I have a Frabill SnoSuit that I love, but I don't love the mobility of the jacket. Anyone have a suggestion for a wind-proof, water-proof, cold-weather jacket that I can wear with a few underlayers and still be able to cast? Some of the Columbia stuff looks pretty good, but they seem to be out of my size.

The striker stuff looks pretty nice. My buddy has it and says it's very warm. And it floats.

I have both the Striker Jacket and the Frabil Grey Ice Suit. Both are wind-proof, water proof warm and have reasonable mobility for casting. I like the Striker Jacket when fishing alone since it floats.

Check out the new Frabill ice series of jackets. Warm, and as waterproof as the Frabill Storm series.

On the striker website it says the jacket floats... but does that mean it will keep the person wearing afloat? Or do you need to have on both the bibs and the jacket to stay afloat? Has anyone tested this (either voluntarily or involuntarily)?

That Omni Heat from Columbia is quite warm. Don't need a thick jacket either. Just a base layer, sweatshirt and that coat. Casting is no issue. You move with Omni Heat and it warms you up.

I have been using Stormr jacklets the last 2 season and love them. I started witha Typhoon and Moved to a Strykr. They have positive bouyancy and have neoprene through out the cosntruction. If you fish is foul weather they are worth checking out. Not a jacket for over 50 degrees but in the fall/winter its as good as it gets IMHO....

Look into some KLIM snowmobile gear, very maneuverable windproof/waterproof and tons of options as far as warmth goes. They are made for going 100mph in any weather condition.

X2!

I Got a klim jacket. Since made for snowmobiling, they have longer sleeves over a normal jacket. which could benefit in casting.
