Jenkins, if you want to see some newer photos of me with fish I am sure I look the same as those 8 year old pics.[:p]

The last times I fished it was twice in 2001 and once in 2002. I got two muskies 35",39" and Bill schwartz got a 41" muskie and a 38" pike. Then on a second 1/2 day trip with the Handyman he got a 37". In 2002 I fished it with Painter and died.[:p]

It can be a productive water...but its either..HOT or NOT. That is what I have found over the years and thats flowages in a nut shell.[;)]

To Sir Sponge & the rest of the "gentlemen" anglers of the over 40 crowd, I look forward to meeting you all in the winners circle. War Pigs? I dont think so, I just put a new CD player, amp, & speakers in "Mama's Regala" (my dear sweet LUND) so I am leaning towards a little "Bloodrock" at 5:00 AM Possibly, their hit tune "Kool Aid Kids" just to promote a little excitement for the young folk.

July 12th, etched in granite as I write this. Oh, and by the way, here is a litte tip for the kids (under 40)that will be trying to catch muskies.

Remember, dont bring a butter knife to a gun fight!

Unfortunately Mike G., I'll have to "coach" from the discomfort of this "box"...unless a "cash cow" wanders into the barn and dies on me door step! [:sun:]
I strongly suggest the Walker Brigade start getting pumped by listening to some Perry Como, Andy Williams, Lawrence Welk... once your fishing partner is confirmed, get together w/ him and watch some re-runs of the "Sing Along With Mitch"(Miller) show and refine your musical talents.
As far as diet goes, get started on the Burl "Chives" Ives Feeding Frenzy; a giant baked potato smothered in sour cream, creamery butter, salt, fresh ground pepper, a handful of chives, and intermittent shots of Tabasco sauce. For breakfast the next morning, start off w/ a hot mug of Gill Hotel or Lousianne chicory java, then a small tub of Lucky Charms. Next feast on a bowl of grits, 2 cat head biscuits, 4 slices of country ham and a quart of V-8 juice. Lunch should consist of a half bushel of steamed clams laced w/ lemon juice and hot sauce, a lb. of saltfish, 6 pieces of salt rising bread or a 10" skillet of jalepeno cornbread; fried oysters can be substituted for the clams if you wish. Desserts should consist of Pay Days, Pay Days, or Pay Days, depending upon availability. Drink a six pack of Coke Colas throughout the day to flush out any impurities you may have in you from the day before. Once you have become conditioned to this southern way of eating, you'll be surprised at just how much vim and vigor you have! I'll get into mental preparation at a later date...first you gotta get that frame in shape![:0]

OK, I have studiously ignored this thread becasue of the schedule I have had the last couple weeks, but can no longer sit idly by and let the snot nosed young punk fanny barely figured out the anti backlash feature young'ns pick on the veterans of the 'muskie wars' any longer. Muskyone, sure. I am in if you are. Slamr, be VERY careful to stay away for Deer Hunting dates in WI, looking especially at rifle and black powder.

Sharpen your hooks and your wits, kiddies, there are muskies to catch and old guys to keep up with!!

Steve, if the wet behind the ears crowd insists on July the 12th I will not be able to make it. So sorry but I am fishing the WMT tourney on Butternut that day. If the date is changed to later in the year I will try to make it. But as things stand right now all I can give you guys is my moral support.

Now that it seems the snot-nosed, thumb-sucking, testosterone filled toddlers have got all the rules changed to their liking, count me in for the Geritol crowd. My normal partner is a member of the diaper brigade, so I'll need a partner, my boat or yours. Let the war begin![:)]

One minute I'm with the "OLD TIMERS" next minute I'm getting my diaper changed!!!!![:0]

Let's get a solid date going here so everyone can make it.

I'm in if I can team with another oldie but goodie. My usual partner is on a family vacation and wedding trip during the July 12th weekend.

Last year on Petenwell huge schools of carp were rolling like pods of killer whales.

Anyone need a 51 year old partner? ghoti?

Buddy

Once when I was a little bitty boy my Mama bought me a cute little toy.

Just ensuring that the Younger Pups get the last word in (for now)....should we pro-rate the older team start time to allow for things such as:
1. Ben Gay application
2. Various brace attachment to used up body parts
3. Metamucil consumption time
4. Getting lost on the way to the ramp (thinking senility here)
5. Multiple bathroom stops on the way to the lake, at the launch, and then just prior to launching the boat?

What is the date?

If it's July 12-13th, all I can do is cheer on the mature guys. I have an RCL tourney to fish that weekend, plus it's my birfday. I certainly don't want to get charged with contributing, considering all the youguns that will be there trying to keep up with us![]

Not to worry, ancient warriors...if the event is to be held on a Saturday, there is a very real possibility none of the barnyard babies will show up before high noon! Once they get home from summer school that Friday, no doubt they will spend the rest of the afternoon playing Play Station 2...then scramble to clean the house when they hear the 'rents pulling in the driveway...after a power dinner of Fruit Roll Ups, macaroni and cheese washed down w/ a glass of Nestles Quick, they will cruise the streets in a vain attempt to find someone to purchase some beer from a 7-11...frustrated and angry after a night of chasing girls, they will arrive home, flip on the tube, and fall asleep on the couch watching MTV at 2:00am in the morning...dad will wake them up next morning, and they will scramble to the garage w/ a Pop Tart in one hand and a Sunny D in the other, cursing the day of their birth because they can't find that "secret bait"(carton of worms) for the "Showdown"...as they grab their Zebco combos and hop in the back of the station wagon, they ask Mom to remember to tape the Teletubbies for them...the closer they get to the lake, the more reality sets in...stomachs begin to turn...palms become moist, and beads of perspiration pop out on their foreheads like angry bee stings and drip into their eyes...they resemble little toy soldiers about to experience their first fire fight on the kitchen floor...suddenly they retch violently, unable to reach the window handle in time, and puke all over themselves and the back of the seat...Mom pulls off the road in disgust...next thing you know, they're headed back home! Swallow your pride youngos, there is no shame in admission of a wrong unless it is carried out... the stage is set...gracefully bow out NOW, before the curtain rises... [:sun:]

Thats IT!!!! Sponger, you drew the battle lines, til July 13th, there is no SPONGE in my eyes!!! How dare you refer to Mac and Cheese in a negative light???!!!???!!! To build up my passion for this event, and my hatred of my opponents who the YOUNG GUNS will drive into the sediment of the lake bottom.....I am going to imagine that each and every senior citizen that I see (aged 41 and above) is a Sponge, or a Worrall, or a Don Pfeiffer......my blood shall be BOILING by then!!!! I am HOPING to avoid physical and/or traffic altercations, but if you don't hear from me for a few days on here....start checking your local police blotter from days past. It's WAR, you ripped on Mac and Cheese and brought this from Defcon 1 to 4 in one big leap.

Boy, now after reading all this, I just sit back and laugh. Sponger, I have to agree with slamr on this one, leave the Mac and Cheese outta it. By the way, when all you old farts show up with your 30k rigs and the rest of us show up in our POS. Then you will relize the difference between looking good and being good. Remember age=wisdom, but I disagree, because they have picked a battle they cant win, so where are their brains and wisdom now......

Man, this is fun, and I know I am ruffling a few depends too......[] []

Easy Junior Mints!! The hallowed macaroni and cheese is in itself not the issue...the fact that you boys eat that pre-packaged imitation of the original is what torments the minds of those who remember better days, when mac/cheese was painstakingly made w/ love and care, not the microwavable snack the "Pepsi Generation" now takes for granted...to get a taste of what "real living" was all about, watch the history Channel this week; they are having 50s Week everyday. From there you will hopefully learn how very hard we slaved/labored to provide you youngsters w/ ALL that you have today!!! Now get upstairs and CLEAN THAT ROOM BOBBY!!!![:sun:] [:sun:] [:sun:]

Jim K,

We picked this fight? I think it was the Slamr hisself who braoched the subject.

My only regret is that, if this event truly is to be held on July 12th, I will not be there to laugh at the young pukers, pulling their jon boats up on the shore, too exhausted to lift them up on the car top, Mickey Mouse rods between their legs, and heads bowed in bitter defeat. Oh, what a glorious victory that will be, to savor the sweet realization, known only to us mature folk, that which shall be earned in battle.

If I cannot be there to partake in this epic confrontation, I will at least be there in spirit. Once the actual count of kiddies participating is known, I will make arrangements for a good healthy breakfast of Rice Krispies with Banana's and skim milk. I will also send Kool Ade and cookies for snack time, and of course, have the green mats send out for nappie time.

Shep, yes slamr had the original Idea, but look back and see who started trash talking first....Hmm seems to me it was you old fellas.....

And I guess, the reason I get really irked is when old people say I did this or that, well I can tell you one thing I have seen stuff that will make most people on this sites head spin, and trust me age is just a number, and does not represent the WISE or ABILITY of anyone. So granted Im only 26, but I have done and seen a lot more than most people twice my age have.

Jim

This outing is going to be a blast. Cant wait to do it, and let the best(YOUNG)team win....

And sponger, I dont eat the mac and cheese outta the box either, I prefer to make my own...

Jim,

If you call the term whippersnapper trash talking, then you are right. But the Extreme One may not be 40+, so that would not count, anyway. The next, and what I would qualify as, trash talk was initiated by the dinkmeister hisself, SLAMR!

Just hoping this is will happen on another date that July 12th. I think Slamr called that date because he knew M1 and I couldn't make it![;)]

Shep, yes I call that trash talking because when I was young thats all I was called and it drives me nutzzzzz. Hey, Im open all summer as long as it isnt July 19-21. I would like this to be on a date when we can all agree, but that will never happen. But it sure would be nice to have a lot of peole there and to meet and to have a blast with. Well till Later.

Jim...sit down and take a DEEP breath, for what I am about to tell you will wobble your knees...you are STILL YOUNG! Never say "I've seen it all now", because there is more stuff out there to see than any of us will ever see... [::)] [:sun:]

Jimmy K, lets be really really honest here buddy: you are young, and you are a dumba@@. Does being young have anything to do with it? NOPE.
I am young, and I am a dumba@@ too though, but I say it loud and I say it proud.
Mac and Cheese out of the box is much better. Shep, you made comments about Mac and Cheese too, and you called me DINKMASTER, a little I have overcome. I know what your boat looks like, I know what you look like....anywhere you are, and there is a gathering of muskie fisherman, or muskies swimming....watch your back! But then again, at your advanced age, I would try to get one of your grandkids to watch it for you: swiveling your head anything more than 5 degrees from right to left could cause permanent damage.

Sponger, never said I have seen it all, but was merly pointing out that some young people have and yes, have seen more to this world than people twice there age, and you cannot argue that. Slamr, I am not a dumbass, and will prove it too you. You actually want to no my IQ score..... Just because I suck at typing doesnt mean Im dumb, just rather standing up for myself. Yes I do respect my elders which you slamr are too me and respect all that they have done for this world, I just get sick of the old saying back in my day, Yes your day was then this is now, and to think you had it so rough blah blah blah. I hope who ever is reading this is not taking this seriously, because I am just trying to ruffle a some feathers in anticipation of the outing.

Count me in I'm 36. The Pet sounds good. Will be on LOTW July 11-19. 8pm for November would be long after dark, but I don't mind the cold one bit.

Next thing you know the old farts will want a handicap. They sure WAAAAAAAA alot.

I think the winner should be the team with the most inches divided by team contestants. That way when only 4 old farts show and get out fished they don't cry like they have been thus far.
