Thanks Ryan, I will try and call U someday in Jan, also will U be at any of Muskie shows this winter in the U.S.A. ???????????????
The Tranx is a beast, Talk about HD, over the top, I can't wait to mount one or two on some of my rods for next year. Maybe a new custom rod, like a 9'6 plus for big plastic.

Gonna be an awesome reel! It would be even better left handed with a black handle knob!

Just as shown Ryan, one of the things I really liked was the bigger paddle style drag adjustment. Like the Trinidad's it is so easy to back off the adjustment after hooking up if you don't want to do battle with just freespool.

I feel for the lefties...a buddy of mine spent a winter throwing and retrieving in his yard to switch so he could use Trinidad's. In the end he was happy he did it.

You guys that have these reels or have tested them and know so much about them, surely you have a lefty for a friend somewhere. Surely you see the feed back here from the lefties- ( Which has been argued for some years now) and if you are/have tested them surely you are in contact with people who make decisions off your feed back, does this question just never come up?

Hey bob, maybe an odd question, but is the reel foot large (ie trinidad or 700te) or small (ie calcutta 400te or curado 300)? thx

wow...those are big reels. 20oz and make a 400-series look small in the pics. more line capacity than a 16NA and almost as fast...plus it should be easier to cast...sounds like a winner in my book!

but to paraphrase..."a foolish price will be the hobgoblin of simple bank accounts."

Sorry guys I only took the one picture posted above and no longer have the reels on hand.

The reel seat is resessed more like a Curado than sitting under the reel like a TE or TN model. The big gear box sits to the side like the newer Trinidad models so the reel actually sits pretty low to the rod. I think guys who like to palm will love it but my style is to hold the foregrip so that is all I tried.

In the spirit of continued thanksgiving...
Today I'm thankful that I'm a lefty. Now I'm absolutely postive that I have something to whine about that is justified.

No need for a left handed model... All you need to do is hold the rod upside down and reel backwards, like my daughter does

I recall another thread some time ago when the trinidads began gaining popularity and wondered why don't they make a reel with the same power and a design similar to a te. I was told by someone on the shimano pro staff that the musky world makes up a small market and they're concerns are not necessarily taken into consideration when designing and trying to market a reel. Honestly it looks like a half hearted approach to try and appease everyone. I wanna try it for sure, but I don't use a low profile reel for muskys not my comfort zone, and by the pic it looks to take up a bit of foregrip? I palm, I go foregrip, I have to switch it up when your pounding 10 hrs a day. When the reel I was wanting way back then is maybe considered by shimano possibly then we might get what we have all wanted or at least myself. Until then I wouldn't cross my fingers and think I'll wait this one out.
