Posts: 32958 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Clue number 2 was Nixon, rhymes with something else. Mason Dixon line, divides what from what? Where is ice, usually, in regards to that line? That led to the next clues, which answered water and ice, then tip up, then "Shep, What"? Sort of. Which is where we are now. Kind of.
I am an object, a thing with which one wishes, the fish were biting well, and one was catching the fishes.

Posts: 32958 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Shep was so close, his toe was on top of the item we seek, what it does rhymes with top. I guess I will conceed the flag part to him, but that isn't exactly what we want, it is VERY close, Slim. 'Flag' it will be, and another clue's due, playing on that one, and another one too.
A post holds the answer, sort of, you see. A sort of a post comes off of the middle of me. Hoo Boy.
Well. Mason Dixon Line, Water, Ice, Tip UP, Flag---what does it MEAN, Josiphine??

Location: Woodstock, IL | Alright, I'm going nuts here. "A post holds the answer, sort of, you see. A sort of a post comes off of the middle of me. Hoo Boy." Other than an oar (swORRal), a fishing rod held in your hands, or your neck, I can't think of a post that comes off of the middle of me. Please refrain from any cutie-pie responses to that one! Location: Woodstock, IL | Ok one more guess. A post holds the answer. Assuming "post" is figurative and not really a message post, it could be a fishing rod. A fishing rod would hold the reel and don't some tip-ups have a built in reel? That would explain Shep being close with "flag" since he was nameing parts of a tip-up. Reel. If that isn't it, I give up (maybe).

Posts: 32958 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | dpratt, your description nearly matches the thing that I am! There is a 'post' in he middle of me, it swings back and forth, sort of, you see!

Location: Woodstock, IL | A levelwind would have been my first guess, but Evilone beat me to it. Hmmm... lemme think. Edited by dpratt 7/30/2003 9:19 PM

Location: Woodstock, IL | Ok, I'm going to ramble a few more guesses before going to bed: Fishing line (spooled in the middle of the reel, moving back and forth guided by the levelwind) Spool (in the middle of the reel) Flag wire (on the tip-up, which holds the flag and obviously moves back and forth)

Posts: 32958 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Flagwire I'm not, the material is wrong, the base too big, and item too long...
But very close. | ||
