Posts: 399 Location: Burton, Ohio | I tried some bigger gliders in the resin also. They were in the 8" range. I liked how they came out. I noticed with the larger gliders made of resin they glide better the bigger they were. I was putting 6 to 8 weight plugs in the belly's similiar to the Huges Rivers. Posts: 399 Location: Burton, Ohio | After experimenting with the Resin gliders I was able to insert a lip from the same body and make a crankbait. I could put a deep lip or a shallow one. It worked great! Posts: 399 Location: Burton, Ohio | I started to mess around with the cedar bodies again. I don't really mass produce anything so I like to take a piece of cedar and just shape it and put a lip in it. Over the last 3 years I am starting to know what lip will work most of the time but not always  It was fun to hand shape a couple of these.Edited by Tigger 12/6/2008 4:33 PM

Posts: 399 Location: Burton, Ohio | Thanks again guys for the kind words. Eric you are a nut! I really really like this one. I just finished it. It is a 10" musky glider. Slow sinking. I carved the head details. I hate that the epoxy fills them in though. Posts: 399 Location: Burton, Ohio | Thanks guys. I love that little bugger. I put 6 belly weights in it. It has a very smooth action. Sinks very slow and level. I like to spread out the weighting the length of the body. I made one over a year ago. It went to a friend in Germany. He has been using it over there. He has been catching fish on it. He sent me this picture a while back. I thought was pretty neat! I finally got back to making another one. Jredig, I am doing a pike at the moment. Those dang little white markings are driving me nuts! I should have it done by the weekend maybe. Jed thanks for the kind words! I really like those new style baits that you have. Posts: 399 Location: Burton, Ohio | Thanks for the kind words again guys. I know this whole thing is a bit obsessive! Ben I remember you at the swap meet. You make your own baits also I believe. If I remember correctly you had some nice foil ones. Very nice to meet also! Beaver you are too kind with words. It is hard to believe that a chance meeting with "fatfingers" while pulling our boats out at a local lake lead me into this luremaking thing. The real bonus is meeting all the people on this site and other tackle making forums that have become such great friends!!!!! I had a real treat this week............ to do a luremaking seminar with Vince ........... aka......... "fatfingers" at Howard Wagners musky club on monday. I got to see Brian of "Legend Baits" Along with Mike and Trent from "Musky Train" . Dale Wiley belongs to that club also. Steelers country!!!!! Vince had a bunch of his newest lures there that he had just completed. WOW!!!!!!! they looked great. Some pictures of them are in a recent thread. Yake ...........I am a huge fan of your work!!!!!!!!! Fantastic stuff! I am in a pickle at the moment....... I am a huge walleye fisherman. I really really really enjoy making the walleye baits. Here in Cleveland in the spring and the fall the big walleyes come into the shore line for heavy feeding. You can catch some monster fish! It will be starting soon for the spring bite. I have been a bit crazed of late making some new style of walleye baits for this year. I don't even want to look at a musky bait! LOL Here are some pics of baits and fish from last fall. I got to fish with Mike Mordas alot along with his co-worker Trent. We had some incredible nights off downtown Cleveland last fall. Mike got a 11.3 pounder , I had an 10.9 pounder and Trent had a 10.6 pounder. Most of the fish came on some proto-types that I was playing around with. Posts: 4266 | Unreal.......I knocked out 2 teeth when my jaw hit the table Y'know muskies like those bright colors too. I like the Brookie with the short lip. I know some lakes in northern WI that have trout in them that the muskies tear up before ice sets in. I bet some row-trollers would get off on those also. I like the pictures when you are holding the lures. Those are real 'workin man hands'. Oh yeah, nice walleyes too. I love catching walleyes on crankbaits. And some people say that walleyes don't hit hard or fight hard.........I bet that one that swallowed the lure head-first hit like a train. Thanks for sharing Tigger.
