Posts: 399 Location: Burton, Ohio | I tried some bigger gliders in the resin also. They were in the 8" range. I liked how they came out. I noticed with the larger gliders made of resin they glide better the bigger they were. I was putting 6 to 8 weight plugs in the belly's similiar to the Huges Rivers. Here were some of the patterns Attachments ---------------- DSC06430glcarp8.jpg (25KB - 296 downloads) DSC06405glcarp13.jpg (27KB - 314 downloads) DSC06603glidesucker2.jpg (28KB - 288 downloads) DSC06628glidesucker7.jpg (30KB - 294 downloads) DSC06616glidecsucker4.jpg (29KB - 279 downloads) DSC07124troutglide12.jpg (18KB - 282 downloads) DSC07127troutglide4.jpg (31KB - 304 downloads) DSC06850yellowperch2.jpg (15KB - 292 downloads) DSC06926yellowperch10.jpg (27KB - 292 downloads)

Posts: 399 Location: Burton, Ohio | After experimenting with the Resin gliders I was able to insert a lip from the same body and make a crankbait. I could put a deep lip or a shallow one. It worked great! Posts: 399 Location: Burton, Ohio | I started to mess around with the cedar bodies again. I don't really mass produce anything so I like to take a piece of cedar and just shape it and put a lip in it. Over the last 3 years I am starting to know what lip will work most of the time but not always It was fun to hand shape a couple of these. Posts: 399 Location: Burton, Ohio | Thanks again guys for the kind words. Eric you are a nut! I really really like this one. I just finished it. It is a 10" musky glider. Slow sinking. I carved the head details. I hate that the epoxy fills them in though. If it was something call "hall of fame" in bait building you will be ther. And it's not just the look off the bait's it'a alsow the way they work in the water. It's so nice to fish with. When you are jusing a snows you now something will happend. The northen pike will eat it, destroy it it's just a lott crazy fishing.

Posts: 399 Location: Burton, Ohio | Thanks guys. I love that little bugger. I put 6 belly weights in it. It has a very smooth action. Sinks very slow and level. I like to spread out the weighting the length of the body. I made one over a year ago. It went to a friend in Germany. He has been using it over there. He has been catching fish on it. He sent me this picture a while back. I thought was pretty neat! I finally got back to making another one. Jredig, I am doing a pike at the moment. Those dang little white markings are driving me nuts! I should have it done by the weekend maybe. Jed thanks for the kind words! I really like those new style baits that you have. The trout swimbait and the jerkbait with the tail. Outstanding! Posts: 4266 | Here it is, almost a year later, and I still am blown away by the lures that you put out Tigger. God truely blessed you with a talent that is second to none. I'm going to try some 10" shallow-running crankbaits to use in fall, but I don't expect them to look anything like what I am looking at on this thread. Amazing Tigger. Truely amazing. Beav

Posts: 388 | Wow! The 3D effect of the paint job is unreal. I have a Tuff Shad and it is a great looking lure but the way that you did the paint makes it look much more sculpted. Super job!

Posts: 399 Location: Burton, Ohio | Thanks for the kind words again guys. I know this whole thing is a bit obsessive! Ben I remember you at the swap meet. You make your own baits also I believe. If I remember correctly you had some nice foil ones. Very nice to meet also! Beaver you are too kind with words. It is hard to believe that a chance meeting with "fatfingers" while pulling our boats out at a local lake lead me into this luremaking thing. The real bonus is meeting all the people on this site and other tackle making forums that have become such great friends!!!!! I had a real treat this week............ to do a luremaking seminar with Vince ........... aka......... "fatfingers" at Howard Wagners musky club on monday. I got to see Brian of "Legend Baits" Along with Mike and Trent from "Musky Train" . Dale Wiley belongs to that club also. Steelers country!!!!! Vince had a bunch of his newest lures there that he had just completed. WOW!!!!!!! they looked great. Some pictures of them are in a recent thread. Yake ...........I am a huge fan of your work!!!!!!!!! Fantastic stuff! I am in a pickle at the moment....... I am a huge walleye fisherman. I really really really enjoy making the walleye baits. Here in Cleveland in the spring and the fall the big walleyes come into the shore line for heavy feeding. You can catch some monster fish! It will be starting soon for the spring bite. I have been a bit crazed of late making some new style of walleye baits for this year. I don't even want to look at a musky bait! LOL Here are some pics of baits and fish from last fall. I got to fish with Mike Mordas alot along with his co-worker Trent. We had some incredible nights off downtown Cleveland last fall. Mike got a 11.3 pounder , I had an 10.9 pounder and Trent had a 10.6 pounder. Most of the fish came on some proto-types that I was playing around with. I like doing the walleye baits because I use the bright colors Attachments ---------------- DSC07227sparklewalleye.jpg (65KB - 271 downloads) DSC07231yellowhead11lber.jpg (36KB - 274 downloads) DSC07236mordas11lber.jpg (29KB - 270 downloads) DSC07241groupshotwalleyes.jpg (28KB - 286 downloads) DSC07286yellowhead.jpg (15KB - 260 downloads) DSC07288purpleback.jpg (13KB - 257 downloads) DSC07302deepgreen.jpg (15KB - 266 downloads) DSC07298modwonderbread.jpg (16KB - 255 downloads) DSC07081blueback.jpg (16KB - 247 downloads) DSC07086lakewoodtreat.jpg (16KB - 254 downloads) DSC07239deepthroat.jpg (35KB - 240 downloads) DSC07215lakewoodtreat10lber.jpg (54KB - 253 downloads)

Posts: 4266 | Unreal.......I knocked out 2 teeth when my jaw hit the table Y'know muskies like those bright colors too. I like the Brookie with the short lip. I know some lakes in northern WI that have trout in them that the muskies tear up before ice sets in. I bet some row-trollers would get off on those also. I like the pictures when you are holding the lures. Those are real 'workin man hands'. Oh yeah, nice walleyes too. I love catching walleyes on crankbaits. And some people say that walleyes don't hit hard or fight hard.........I bet that one that swallowed the lure head-first hit like a train. Thanks for sharing Tigger. It's always to see what you've been up to. Beav

Posts: 27 Location: Calgary, Alberta | Tigger, I was speachless when I first saw your lures! There are many incredible lure builders/painters on this forum but you sir are an artist. It goes without saying that all your lures are fantastic but I was especially intrigued by your walleye cranks since several are the size & colour scheme that the big pike & trophy walleye on my "home" lake would try to demolish! I have many questions to ask but you would have to sit in front of your computer for a couple weeks to answer them all. Instead I will bother you with only a couple. First, what paint do you use? I'm reffering specifically to the Yellowhead, Blueback, Lakewood treat, & Blackgreen cranks. The colours seem deeper & more intense than what I've been able to achieve with Createx Auto Air (maybe just because of my lack of experience?) Second, I notice that you tape-off the bill then apply many coats of Etex? Do you remove the tape part way through the drying process of each coat then re-tape before starting the next coat or do you leave the same piece of tape on until the end of the finishing process? Thanks, John B.
