| Being newer to muskie fishing, I am trying to figure out this story and posts. Is the picture of Jonesi or the other guy? I don't know either of the people, but I read that the other guy caught the fish and it seems like Jonesi gets all the credit. Either way, great job to both guys, they both deserve the credit. It is exciting to see what may lurk under the water. |

| A huge congrats and WAY TO GO to Jody Dahms as well.
It takes a TON of persistence and determination to fish an entire day in the conditions they were faced with, not see a fish all day and still remain focused so you're ready when a fish like this decides to eat.
Nice work by everyone involved. |

Steve Jonesi did not catch the fish. The picture is of Jody Dahms, the angler that caught the fish.

| All I can say is THANK YOU.I feel truly blessed to have been witness to that fish.Major congrats are in order for Jody AND Derek.Those guys both fished their butts off in crazy conditions all day.I don't know how many times I've said, "she's only 1 cast away" this season.I'm still in shock over the incredible size of the fish.In my mind, Jody caught and released the State Record.Official?No.Doesn't matter.The experience shared by the 3 of us is enough for me.She swam away really strong and once again is only a cast away.I'll have the whole story on my website this am and will have more pics soon as well.Thank you again for all the kind words and phone calls.I appreciate them all very much. Jody and steve, got to see the photo album last nite, some of those pics really give a great Idea of how big this fish truly was, and it is every bit as big a said. No question a true 50lb+ class fish. Great work, and congrats on releasing a fish that was possibly pushing the MN state record or could be there in a few more weeks.
