That I can be Slamr! But I'll have to "coach" from here. I'm still cracking up over Muskyone and Mike Gs posts!!! Get everything organized and I'll figure out a training/dietary program for the "Walker Brigade". At 49, and w/ the flexibility of a stand up tuna rod,I've broken, torn, dislocated, or sprained most everything but me neck, yet feel the vigor of me former youth returning as I envision the event! As this epic drama begins to unfold, I vaguely recall episodes of a younger generation presenting challenges to the previous generation...then, as now, the follies of youthful rebellion led to a belladonic thought pattern that ended up in shattered hopes of the youngos...stick a fork in the Jr. dudes...they're done![:sun:]

36 and an old geezer, eh? Pat, Mr. Hellraiser? Think we should knuckle up and join in on the "Gangs of Musky1st"??

Any chance we can get Pfeiffer-Grant to face off (and lose to) against the young-ins?

Slamr
*hey people of the Generation X and whatever age group....where the HELL are you?

Slamr, what do you mean. you have at least 2 people on your side, we cant help it were busy, remember old people always go out in numbers, to eat, to vote etc, etc...... We wont be able to beat them in numbers of people but we can smoke them in number of fish.

What's that make, Slamr? Only a couple of you young punks willing to get a can of Whoop-Ass opened up on you? Where are all you snot-nosed little brats hiding?! C'mon! Time to stand up for a change. Stop hiding behind mama's skirt! I'll even bring Kool-Aid for you, and maybe cookies. July is good for me. Besides, school will be out, so all the kid's will be on summer break.

The Young'uns are prepared to hand defeat to our decrepit foes. But as the silent masses, we prefer to watch quietly and let our actions speak for us.
Trash talking is all those old guys have, so we'll hold our tongues... lest we're named as defendants in "Elder Abuse" class action lawsuits.

The Gen-X'ers stand ready to plunder the waters of p-well. [;)]

No hiding going on here....I'm in, Luke Chinewalker is in, and I know that Jimmy K is in. We'll build our numbers, just that most of OUR generation is probably at work, putting a large portion of our paychecks to pay for YOUR social security payments.

Slamr
*yes I'm talking trash, and I plan on talking trash til the youngsters take the title on this day.

I think we need Worrall to make a nice traveling plack that us old guy's can hang on to for the next few years!!!![]

That's actually not a bad idea. Those old guys would like the plaque idea. Sort of a traveling trophy. One of those second place, also-ran "Thank you for participating..." plaques maybe? I think us young guys could pony up a few $s for a consolation prize like that.

Oh geez... I told myself I wouldn't let myself get caught up in this, but I'm powerless now. []

Slamr,Slamr.....Now you've done it.I will be with the old farts!!!At 35 , I just make it.Some of the old dudes have forgotten more about the "Green Fish" than the young guns will ever know(of course I'm not one of them)!!!I'm in.M-1 and I will bring team Sage and the pups won't have a chance!!! What was the line that was drawn? At 30 y/o? SLAMR, you might want to raise that to 40y/o. At 41 I'm still with the old farts, but the change will ensure "The Sprats" (my name for the youngsters, comes from I Go Pogo) have a fair number of "good sticks" on the team. I might be wrong, but I'm betting the vast majority of M1 regulars are over 30y/o. Worrall and Jason, what do you think?

Since there seems to be a large out-numbering of old timers, I will have to step up for the side of the young guys. How many old guys DOES it take to catch a muskie...?

Subject: Young Versus Old MuskieFIRST Tournament Outting?

Oh, the line is 35. Well, you still might want to kick it to 40.

Just changed it to under 40 is younger team....41+ is the elder statesman of the group.

So, can we get an un-official, 5 months early list of the pairings?

Where might this "Super Sewer Challunge" take place? For safety sake, it should be an area where the youngsters can be observed from the bank by a responsible adult...w/ all these "Jrs" signing up, Waldo Mart better stock up on the Tweetie Bird Combos! [;)] [:0]

2. Luke_Chinewalker
3. Jason Smith
4. Scott Jenkins
5. Ralph Florio
6. Steve Jonesi
7. Jimmy K

*****this isn't fair, it's an ALL-STAR TEAM already!

The younger age should be under 40 because, not enough of the younger fishermen speeking up. Lets get it on you whippersnappers, you might learn something. We should do this when school is out so more time for the younger generation to practice. This is going to be a good running thread, keep in mind that this is harmless rippin and if someone gets pissed off by someone else, use it as a motivator on the water. With that said get the permission slips ready for the little guys and pack the pain killers for the old guys. Lets get ready to rumble on the water !!!![]

It looks like some good sticks already for the little guys, we should not feel bad about putting them in their place. Long live the old guys !!![]

This is a direct Quote from MNesox. "The age bracket should be 0-25 26-40 and 40-Worrall."

I think this would really make things interesting.

SLAMR, JULY WILL WORK AS LONG AS ITS NOT THE WEEKEND OF 19th-21st. Either before or after will work but not that weekend.

I am in. As long as the event is before the 19th of July. Going to be a little busy that day with the future Mrs Running_Hot. I dont think I can ask her to change the date for a fishing tourney!

July 12th? 6AM launch time? Make that 6-9AM for the older folks who might be taking a little while getting going that early.

Slamr
*can't do July 19th either, have to attend the Running Hot wedding. HR make a good wedding gift? Something he'll like, but trade to me for something I will end up getting back later anyways.

I might be able to pull it off for a July 12 date. Still a bit far out for me, though. If someone needs a boat partner I would gladly join the non over the hill group.

Yep, that's what I thought, another rule change. I'll bet that this isn't the last one either. Seems the the younger generation can't or won't put up, so I think that they better SHUT UP,LOL. Should have known that they would not dare to stick to their own rules for more that a day or two. Won't be long until us old farts have to fish with one hand tied behind our back. That would make reeling a little tough. This is going to be great. But you have no idea how much S*** you youngsters are going to gather if we win orrrrrrr if I catch any of you so called HE MEN trolling. That should be off limits for young studs like I hear crowing on this thread. The gloves are off little boys. It's time for us to open up big can of Whoop A$$. I only hope that we embarass the young crowd so much that they can't show their faces 'round here no more. [] [] [] [] []

I would love to take part in this "beat up the Old Folks" tourney. July is the only problem that I might have.. I'll be fishing Canyon Lake from the 12th through the 18th.

If the little battle of the Ages doesnt fall on those dates, I'm in! [:)]

Oh yeah, I'm 31

Slamr,
As of right now I have nothing on the calendar for July 12th and would love to join forces with the dark side. Count me in for the not so old crew.

I was always taught to respect my elders and not to talk back to them no matter how wrong they may be so I will end this post here.[]

OK....

What date and lake has been officially decided on...?

Should we move this post to the M1st. outtings board. No it's not an official outing but it will be easier to keep track of..

One thought guys....

In WI there is a law that says any event over ??? number of boats constitutes a tournament and requires a DNR tournament permit.

I think we best be careful as to how we procede with this..

Other than that let's get a date. lake so we can make plans..

Uh Oh!!!!!

Slamr, I think you might have to put my name down for this one. Maybe I can lead us younger, wiser, quicker, better looking guys to the trophy. LOL. We should try to get Chad Cain on this one.

LOL, on my boat I might have to go ghetto style to piss off the old guys (Jay-Z, Wu-Tang) lol.

I say the heat is the real test.
