Posts: 280 | Eagle River Chain, Mepps Musky Killer. 3rd and final morning of my first attempt at musky fishing. Last spot caught two on back to back casts in the same weed bed. Had I not caught those fish my addiction may have never happened. Once I got home all my bass/walleye tackle hit ebay and its been muskies ever since. Edited by Mad Musky 3/8/2013 7:45 AM

Posts: 333 Location: menasha wi 54952 | Now this brings back an old memory. Summer of 1972. I was 5 years old. Camping with the family on the Three Lakes Chain. Out fishing with the old man. Tossing my one and only lure. 9" black top white belly Suick!! I remember a fish jumping out of the water and start swimming away with "MY" lure in its mouth. I didnt have a clue. 42".

Location: sneaking out to get on the water ;-) | A 28" on a homemade bucktail. Larry that's awesome the kids have had several blow up next to the boat as they were lifting their bait. So far they haven't caught any of those fish yet just jaws dropped and soaked a couple times. Our 16 year old caught his first 35and a half" on homeade bucktail when he was 12. His younger brother got a 41" on a homeade plastic last oct for his first and he's still bragging about his being the biggest first so far. See what the girls do one is 6 and the other is almost 11 months.

Posts: 287 Location: Oconomowoc, WI | First one I remember, was on a tally-wacker. I know I caught a few when I was a kid, but I don't remember what they were caught on. Probably a piece of crawler.

Posts: 1901 Location: MN | First one caught while I was fishing for them - 51" on Tallywhacker Second one caught 2 weeks later - 51" on Tallywhacker I was awfully lucky, and hooked. Second fish destroyed that bait and I never caught another on its replacement.

Posts: 456 Location: Kansas City BBQ Capitol of the world | I think it was 1974. My pops took me out trolling on the Niagra River. We used Pike Creek Chubs. He took mine, bent the metal lip with some pliers, took off the back hook and replaced it with another of a different size. I asked what he was doing and he said he was changing the action. A few hours. later *POW* I caught my first Muskie. One of my favorite childhood memories. Ron

Posts: 192 | First fish was a 45 inch tiger on a little white buzz bait, and my first ski was a 50 inches on an orange and yellow rad dog spinner bait. He jump 2 feet vertically out of the water needless to say I was an addict by the time he landed back in the water.

Posts: 335 Location: Minnesota | First musky was on Winnipeg River with my dad, grandpa, and grandma in the boat. I had stopped throwing my only suick about 10 minutes before and went back to throwing a red & white spoon for pike. It was 42" long and it took a while for me to convince my dad and grandpa that I had a real big one on - they didn't believe me. I saw the fish hit the spoon and knew it was big from the moment I saw it. I was about 12 or 13.

Posts: 661 Location: Sussex, NJ | Mine came on a Buck Perry's Spoonplug. Trolling with a friend and my old man. I was 6 years old and the fish ended up being 46". I remember before that trip standing in my yard with a rod in my hand and my dad puling on the other end to see if I would be able to handle catching a muskie. Addicted ever since

9/9/2001 Northland Bionic Bucktail (orange) - 36". After spending over $1K on a trip to LOTW, we drove with a friend to a lake about 1.5 hrs from home, spent maybe $25 on donuts, snacks, soda, and a little gas for the boat. Drizzly heavily overcast day, bunch of laydowns. Still remember it like it was yesterday.
