I don't troll. My longest have come on casting gear, but my fattest one this past fall came on fly, and it was still 52.

Both. I'm tied for PB length fish with both casting and trolling. Weight? I dunno. Using the calculations, both were similar in weight...probably within a mere few of pounds of each other.

we have miles of productive waters here in canada making trolling a must in the arsenal, that said i still mainly cast, i started this post because i caught my 2 PB's trolling, (length, don't weight fish ), which i found strange . i'm glad to see it's a mixed bag for everyone. looking forward to wetting a few new baits in a few new spots this summer,

My PB in Wisconsin was caught trolling. I cast and troll about equally in the WI waters I fish.

My overall PB was caught casting in Canada, where I cast 99.9% of the time during the summer...and its about 50/50 in Canada in the fall.

I'm tied with my PB / trolling and casting... it would be an epic event for me if I could break the tie this year because I'm still only at #5 regarding my boats PB

Four Wisconsin 50's all trolling. Two canada monsters both trolling. I cast when its the best patterns and troll when they move deep. 30% casting 50% trolling and 20% suckers. Guess that's 70% trolling.

Caught my PB length twice, once trolling, once on a sucker. Cast about 90% fo the time. Plan to troll more this season, especially when it is the more favorable pattern where I fish.

6 fish over 50" and five have been caught dragging a sucker and the other was caught trolling after dark in July. I only drag suckers in the months of October and November. I would be interested in hearing if the guides who drag meat in the Fall catch most all of their biggest fish in this manner.
