Lets see, been bit over 20 years ago,got the "magic" bait syndrome soon there after and have never been the same . I have thousands. I just put away a large conatiner of lures I haven't touched in over 15 years, some never used, some used once, some caught 20+ fish but just lost interest in em,found something better! I have 3,4 and even 6 or 12 of the same lure and color baits, just in case I loose or break one or 3 of them! Add that to about 20 different lures and it don't take long to get a 500 lures. I do collect certain lures from the mid to late 80's.... I also have 20+poles, a box full of reels some work, some don't. I have tried to sell some here but that didn't go as well as I had hoped... So my total is close to well, almost enough but still looking for that " magic" lure that will get me 1 over 50,then I gotta find another and another...Keep on getting lures, it is fun to look at a basement full of em and say you don't have the right one and not enough of em! Sorry about the book,oh,I got a shelf full of those too! LOL

Paul- I'll bet I have some that you don't, I also know you have lots that I don't. LOL

I'm going to try and make the Wausau show, I'll bring a couple with me. I would really enjoy seeing you again, its been a while since the Cass Lake adventure.

Have fun!

Last count in 2010 was just over 1200 lures. Best guess is 1500 plus by now. Never enough. Since I troll for a few months a season I need multiples of each good trolling baits. That adds up quickly.

Never enough lures or rods and reels.

Had around 150+ and recently worked on narrowing down my collection to a more manageable 80-90. Different styles of each action of lure and a different size to work with and colors to match different water types. Always adding new ones each season but nice to be able to sell some here to have more money to buy more.

My wife and I used to keep near a thousand but we shaved that down to a couple hundred that catch fish. My personal casting box only holds about 40, so when I go out I don't carry many lures anymore. My wife still packs her magnum Lakewood with more then she can fish in a week on the water and still catches most of her fish on two lures. Her and I could catch all our fish on 12 baits casting and 8 baits trolling on most lakes. But there is the boredom factor to consider. One gets bored fast throwing the same thing over and over and over again. Our total varies now every year. We buy trade and build in reaction to where we plan on fishing the coming season. This year is going to be a lot small lakes close to home so I wont be building or buying much big stuff. But hey collecting lots of musky baits is fun. I love it when someone says fish actually eat those?????????? Mike

I've been into it for almost 4 years now. Just cleaned the boat out and reorganized a few weeks back and decided to count. Just over 150 hard baits, spinnerbiats & bucktails. Didnt count rubber but I'd guess at about 20 bulldawgs. Like everyone else, I could cut those 150 in half and not miss them. FYI, I sold about 20 last fall. We're crazy

I used to have hundreds ,,, then I asked myself these questions :
--- have I ever had a follow-up on this lure ?
--- have I ever caught a musky on this lure ?
--- have I used this lure in the last two years ?
If the answer was no ,, I sold it away,,, now I have a few bucktails, a few crankbaits, a few rubber baits and 10 Suicks,,, now its so easy to load the boat !!

That's not that bad, I see some empty slots where more could fit...

Black Org is my favorite. I killed about 30 of them last season I would guess. Need to reload on them once the boys at musky innovations are done with show season.

Just wait until you start making baits. Every says that it's a great way to save money, but instead it's a great way to have 4x more for the same amount of $$$.

A few years ago I counted around 350 in my boat and there were about 2-3x that at home still.

Trust me my cranks and glider collections are pretty large as well. The problem is that they are packed up in boxes mainly so I cant really take a pic like I did with the dawgs.

So many that if you were to stand inside my home and throw a cat hard in any direction you would require either the volunteer fire daprtment or a .22 short to resolve the problem.

I have two of those cheap Bass Pro Shops carrying pouches that hold four 3700 Planos each. Those eight Planos packed full is more than enough. Like some others stated, now my main concern is better rods and reels.
