I met Larry in Chicago this year and I told him my son loves his show. He said thanks and pulled out a 8 x 10 picture of him holding a muskie and wrote my son a short note and signed it. I have it framed and my son loves it and shows it to all his friends. I can't imagine what Larry and his family are going through and i will keep them in my prayers. Hug your kids every day.

Prayers and heartfelt condolences.

My cousin was shot and killed a year and a half ago in a random act of senseless violence. He was 25 years old and left behind a wife and 2 year old son. The pain never stops.

We here at Frankie's have had a tough week with the news about Larrys son. Larry is Frankie's all time best friend and things have been very sad here since last weekend. It is a fact that Larry was on the phone with Aaron when he was killed. He was in Puerto Rico looking to buy a home. He was just talking to his dad getting ready to take some picture of the gigantic full moon when he was shot. So very sad and my heart goes out to Larry and Marilyn. About all I can say is hug your loved ones when you have the chance....you just never know.

This is terrible news, and I cannot imagine what the family is going through. Words simply cannot express how sorry I am for their loss. This is senseless, indeed.

God bless Larry and his family in this tragic time.

So sorry to hear about this. Larry, God bless you and your family. I't's just not the natural order of things to have a child pass before their parents. You definitely are in our prayers and thoughts. I got to finally meet you and talk to you at the show you were so gracious and kind to my kids especially. I can't imagine what you must be going thru.

To lose a loved one to old age is one thing. For this situation I have no concept of the feelings when I look at my children playing right now. Unimaginable. God bless the family and prayers go out to the Dahlberg family.
Sincerely,
James

Terrible event.

Puerto Rico and Mexico are two countries people really need to stay away from now.

The issue with Puerto Rico right now is the gangs are fighting a turf war on drugs. Larry's son was probably mistaken for someone he is not.

March 28th paper.

Double-Murder Boosts Puerto Rico 2011 Death Toll to 140

SAN JUAN – A double-murder in the San Juan district of Rio Piedras’ residential neighborhood of Monte Park brought the number of violent deaths so far this year to 140, the Puerto Rican police reported Tuesday.

The two victims were identified as Victor Cook Rivera and Edgar Garcia Rivera, the latter of whom was the head of an illegal drug sales operation in the Jardines del Paraiso neighborhood, also in Rio Piedras.

Police said that the motive for the killings could be a settling of scores among members of bands linked to drug trafficking in the zone.

Security forces reported another double-murder a few hours earlier at a shopping center in the San Juan suburb of Canovanas, an incident about which no details are yet known.

Gov. Luis Fortuño, on Tuesday in his “state of the commonwealth” message, will discuss the growing amount of crime on the Caribbean island along with tax reform and Puerto Rico’s economic situation. EFE

On behalf of all of the members in the Fox River Valley Chapter #39 we extend our condolances to Larry and his family at this time. What a senseless tragedy! Larry was just at our club meeting back in January! What a wonderful person he was, and to have something like this happen to him is just unfathomnable. We are so very sorry. We will keep Larry and his family in our prayers. God, this just makes no sense at all.

Wow. That is so sad.

I was on vacation with my family in Puerto Rico at that time. We went to Rincon, which is on the west side of Puerto Rico where the crime rate is very low. We never saw anything there that even made us uncomfortable. Well, except for a few crazy drivers, but that was about it.

I had read that there was a drug related gang-war going on in the San Juan area and it was best to stay out of that area. It is nothing on the scale of what is going on in Mexico. It is more similar to the gang violence that erupts occasionally in many US cities like Minneapolis and Miami. The locals in Rincon told us to not go near San Juan because of the crime.

Very sad that such a young man got caught in some sort of a cross-fire. My thoughts are with the family.

Truly gut-wrenching, makes me sick.

I knew Aaron. Although I had only seen him once in the last ten years, we got reaquainted through Facebook. I had seen his posts from Puerto Rico the weekend he was killed. He seemed to be having a nice time and had been looking at condos. He did take a picture of the moon and posted it to Facebook. I can only assume his senseless killing came shortly after he took the picture. It is a true tragedy and I offer my condolences to the family.

Aaron was such a bright, energetic and kind person. He wouldn't hurt a flea. In fact, it seemed one of his favorite past-times was taking pictures or videos of his cat and posting them to Facebook. What's truly sad is that Aaron had recently beaten cancer. He had much to look forward to. A truly sad event.
