Mack,

NICELY DONE!!!

What a difference a little time and effort goes into making. Reminds me of my old Alumacraft V14 that I put flat floors in and a raised front deck...

I miss that boat. Those pix show up so dang small on the thread....the small pix don't do it justice. I fished from that boat for years prior to buying it from the guy I bought it from. It was rotting away. All the wood in the boat, floor boards and side boards were rotting through and you'd step on them and down the to aluminum hull you'd go. Too many good times, great memories and great fish caught in that boat to let it go to waste. Bought it from him, fished from it for a few years, many more good times, great memories and great fish were caught from within it. Then I just simply needed to upgrade to a larger boat. Sold that Pike Attacker to my bro-in-law, then I spent a few more years enjoying it with it still in the family. He just sold it this past Fall.

Someone got a great boat. That little 2-stroke Johnson 15 hp outboard will probably outlast me...

Not a fishing boat, but an oldie that me and my brother restored. She's 1960 Crestliner Flying Crest that is probably 97% exact to the way she rolled off of the show room floor down to each cleat, guage, etc. This year she's getting a new 100hp 1960 Mercury that we've been restoring to exact specs for the last year or so.

Some great, well maintained and restored boats in this thread. However, if this was a contest I think we would have to hand the trophy to darkwing! I hope you re-post when you finish that big Johnson and hang it on the boat. The chrome spot light is a really nice touch. You and your brother must be very proud, you have done some great work there.

Thanks for all of the kind words. When we started doing the project, we were just going to give it a cosmetic facelift, but as we started, the project took on a life of its own. I've attached a few pictures straight from the 1960 crestliner catalog to show how the original boat appeared as well as a picture of the interior pre-restore. We still have to paint the red stripe on the side of the boat, and have to make the bimini top, but other than that she's pretty complete. We definitely get many looks when we take her out.....which is gratifying after all of the work we put into this project.

The dash is aluminum. Crestliner was going for the "automobile" style dash board with this model. The boat is almost 100% aluminum (the only wood on the entire boat is on the transom and the floors).

Here's my small but proud mid-70's Blue Fin, extensively modified. At least 9 regular M1 members have fished with me at least once in her over the past 10 years. How do you like the MuskieFirst Pro Team sticker on the side, ain't that a hoot?

Your boat sounds like as much of a whore as my boat! I've gotten emails and been talking to guys and "oh, yeah, I've fished out of your boat before...." How many was it Sled? LOL

Now don't go dissin' Ranger's ole Blue Fin! That's a real fishin' machine. I've personally fished from it a number of times, and each time, I had fish in the net!

This one is the best, it broke a 4 year dry spell. Mostly because of work, traveling around the world, including living in Rhode Island. Thanks for all the great memories, Ranger. Let's hit the water this spring, just say when & where.

Have fun!
Al

BTW: Beware, that's a racing engine on the back of that old Blue Fin.

Come on, I'd have thought we'd see some cool "old boats" here. Everybody can't afford new 'hot rod" Ranger's etc. I once had an 1949 Correctcraft. Ranger's old Blue Fin can't be the oldest boat on the water chasing muskies. I also like to see the modifications & adaptations for muskie fishing. Muskie fisherman can be pretty creative.

Have fun!
Al

I remember that fish, Al. Cass Lake Outing. Crankbait (custom painted barbless earnie?) tossed up by a pier in HIGH wind, 3+' waves as I recall. We had to use the gas motor to stay off shore while you brought her in. A quick unhook, a couple pics, safely released and then with a long sigh of the fun being just over you smiled wide and sat on the crankbait you forgot you tossed on your boat seat. Ha ha, lucky you only poked holes in yout rain pants!

My racing motor is an early 90's 15hp Merc. But the sticker says it's a 9.9. I've recently had the cylendars(sp) bored out and refit with larger rings. With the wind at my back and the dog on the floor I can get up to 25mph now. Wanna race?

Ranger- obviously your old eyes are deceiving you - that's a Jake in the upper left, yup custom painted by Stan Durst (Stump Knocker). The lil'Ernie is right under the fish's tail also a Stan Durst custom creation. Both have phase shifting paint so they change colors as they move in the water. Ya really didn't have to bring up the post release action did ya? Too funny!

Have fun!
Al

1990 vintage Lund Predator II. Not your average factory paint option though.

I remember seeing a pic of that boat before, sorenson. Seems like we decided it looked like a PT Boat!

Yeah, I think Sorno's boat might send some poor individual into a siezure just looking at it- cool paint job. You certainly can't mistake who's boat that is

this was my old boat that dad bought in 1990 it was a 1963 cane that we re did twice this was it just about 4 years ago when I bought my new boat that is under cover in the back yard this was a few days before the new owner took her away.

I made the seat boxes movable and also hinged to have some storage as I took out the casting decks and made her into a trolling machine.

This is my new ride its a 1994 Starcraft Super Fisherman with a 90 mariner it is a great boat for the family and my self.

Sorry have to add my daughters 42"er but this pic does show the rod holders I like the way they are set up they are big Jon's the best part is i can un screw them and have just the 4" bases no track so the kids can sit up there when were pan fishing.
