It's not thievery. It's a redistribution of wealth. If you have a fishing boat, you can certainly afford to help the less fortunate. The less fortunate understand this, so they choose to help themselves to what they've been made to feel is rightfully theirs. They do it while you're fishing or sleeping so you don't have to be bothered. I believe this very well may be a government sponsored program.

totally makes sense now Kev ... and we'll stand to lose so much less parking our rigs on those landings than when we do our taxes in April ... thanks Kevin ... you've helped me to see the value in it and now it makes much more sense.

No problem, Buddy. As citizens, we're all in this together, and we just need to learn to look at things a little differently.

On Vermilion a couple of years ago had a friend have his truck scratched all to heck by a drunk woman with a rock. Thought it was her ex husbands or something. A couple years before that some named guides had there windows shot out with a pellet gun at a public landing on Vermilion. Have not heard of any incidents at public launches on V for a few years now...

I've fished some lakes in vilas that I thought a thief could easily score big at the landings,I have not had any problems yet but don't leave anything in my truck when I'm fishing those lakes.my cousin had his van broke into while fishing petenwell at a backwoods landing a few years ago,now the only place he launches is the county park.

Obviously U2!

I wouldn't want to be the culprit Sled catches! Likewise, U wouldn't want to be the culprit I catch - even if it wasn't my own rig!

I have very high pain thresold and + 16 years in US military experience. Yeah, I'm an old fart! But, I have also studied under 10th degree black belt -> Meaning, I have been in barracks/bar fight's you can't even imagine.

There is no excuse for what these guy's are doing. Watch out for your fellow muskie fisherman or even those lesser species fisherman at the landing's - it's the right thing to do! If you see something suspicious- take a camera/phone photo & write it down and report it to authorities! YOU could be next!

Be safe!
Al

Sorry to busy with work, and important stuff. Ripping MIch G light, would be the number one beer in the they would open the market on it. They are to afraid it would take over bud light, miller lite aargh!!! Never got into the rhinelander beer, it was old swill, till milwaukee best for 1.99 a 12 pack, the stuff we lost out of norm truck some nights ice fishing. Still got my 6 pack of treaty beer, and billy beer too just for some fun political talk.

Put a 'PBR' sticker on your bug deflector, next to the one that says 'wolves, taste like chicken', and underneath 'old fart' and those bandits won't come near your rig.

I can support your other selections Troy, much better than Mich. If you haven't tried the Sam Adams Oktoberfest, do so. Pretty tasty. Love Blue and Kokanee as well.

Doesn't matter where you are. I have a friend in Alabama. They were out for 4 hours when they got back to the landing his spare tire and window were smashed along with 3 other vehicles. He said 3 weeks later at the same launch a 75 yr old man put a .308 round right through one of the meth heads. So one down many to go!

You can get a MN Concealed Carry permit. They also have recriprocal agrerements with Utah (i.e you're Utah permit is recognized as valid) and FL. If you have both the Utah and FL carry permits, you're good in every state except WI (which allows open carry, subject to local ordinances) and IL.

If you don't want to go through the classes and fingerprinting, etc.? Well, I guess you need to ask yourself if a minor firearms violation is worth it or not.

That's not quite true Jeff. There's still several states that do not honor the Utah/Florida CCW permit combination. Much has to do w/ the residency and/or shooting test (or lack thereof) in the permitting process. But WI and IL are still the only states that completely disallow concealed carry for citizens.
