Posts: 425 | pepsiboy - 3/28/2010 7:52 AM 50"skie - 3/27/2010 10:17 PM I love the action of the Havana Jack. This is an 8.5 inch bait and comes only with two 5/0 trebles. Those hooking percentages are not ssooo good. So, what I did is just add another one on. I screwed in another screw eye directly center of the other two hooks and added a 4/0 treble on. Still has the exact same action and the hooks do not get tangled with each other. Great hooking percentage and Great action! Jake Heuer if you ask me the additional treble hooks look useless considering the space between original hooks location,it look like 3 to 4 inch.if you miss fish with the original setting its not gonna be something big no? Yeah I was kinda thinking the same thing. I also have one that I switched out the two 5/0 (that comes when you buy it) and switched them out with two 7/0 trebles. I guess I'll just test them out this season and see witch one has better hook ups. If ya ask me I think this one will. Jake Attachments ---------------- ![]()

Posts: 774 Location: South East Wisconsin | Will the 7/0 trebles affect the action of the Hjack? More I think about it, it may make it a little heavier which would make the lure ride lower and push more water? Interesting, I may have to experiment in the pond. Jake, are you losing fish on the Hjack or are you having a lot of blow-ups? I run the Hjack with the original hooks and every fish that has hit I have hooked up.

Jake, are you losing fish on the Hjack or are you having a lot of blow-ups? I run the Hjack with the original hooks and every fish that has hit I have hooked up. I only landed one fish on the two 5/0's and had a lot of blow ups. They would just come and take a swipe at the bait and, well......... ![]() Thats why I have been experimenting with the different hooks. I didn't really have a lot of time to test the two 7/0 out because I just started putting them on last fall.

Posts: 2024 | I was fortunate enough to get my hands on a One-Eyed Willy and OEW Jr. last year for Project Noble Beast. The OEW is a beast and moves tons of water as well as riding waves well. I became partial to the smaller OEW Jr. which reminded me a little of the Phat Boy, except on steroids. Great sound for a smaller WTD bait and extremely user friendly. You can get this little puppy to do a 180-270 no problem... which triggered this gorgeous 48" (and #27 for the study) into obliterating the bait! Attachments ---------------- ![]()

Posts: 742 Location: Grand Rapids MN | 50"skie, another option would be to move the front hook forward some. Going to longer/larger hooks just moves the hook points further back on the lure which is part of the original problem. And if you want to go with 3 hooks after moving the front one forward then get some short shanks. I would even go with the lighter wire stuff just so you don't add to much more weight. I moved hooks forward on a few Jackpots and it doesn't seem like I miss to many fish any more (pike and 'skies). Just another thought to toss around... and to have fun with!

Posts: 727 | The weagle is a great bait but I've thrown around the fish stick and that is a really sweet bait also. Lee did a pool demo and showed alot of different ways you can use it. His bait is quiter and doesn't have as much of a wide glide so the fish don't miss it as much. The mass marauder is also a pretty decent bait, alot of head bob but kinda picky on the cadance.

Posts: 3242 Location: Racine, Wi | JImbo, I may be missing out on some fish by not throwing jackpots or other WTDs (I know the OEWs and Fish sticks are good baits as well as I have many friends that throw them), but I can't argue with the success that myself and clients have had with weagles. That's the only time I go to just one bait from a category, but it's worked up to this point, and very well. When it comes to other baits, I have plenty to cover the conditions, but with weagles, I've caught fish working it fast, and also working it slow so I'll keep rocking that bait for sure. Jimbo - 3/28/2010 8:27 AM Seems crazy to me someone, and a guide to, would say they only throw 1 kind of wtd topwater!!!! That's like saying you only own and throw a mepps marabou for bucktails in my opinon! !! Wow. Edited by tuffy1 3/30/2010 10:21 AM

Posts: 20241 Location: oswego, il | I really like my weagle. As for the color, it's black with a white head. My other favorites are the recon in both sizes from H2otackle and you can weight them to your likeing. I also really like the shad topwater and kahuna topwaters from Hoosire hand made musky baits. Here are pics of the recon, shad topwater and kahuna which is a plastic bait: Attachments ---------------- ![]() ![]() ![]()

i will never pay that price for a weagle just because i know the lil effort behind a baits like that that's why i really enjoy satisfier btw i dont care to pay 30 to 50$ for a bait that worth it

Posts: 2089 | 1.Weigh the blank 2.Put on jig and mark holes 3.Drill said holes, including eyes(routing bit) 4.Sand blank for better primer adhesion 5.Prime blank 6.Sand blank again for better paint adhesion 7.Paint blank 8.Insert eyes 9.Apply topcoat 10. Re-drill holes for hardware 11. Apply hardware and hooks All of this is done BY HAND. Taking drying time into account, the process is a couple days. Hand made wood baits. Naw, not worth $25? Hahahahahaha. Nuff said. 10.

cranks are way more complex to made and price are generally lower and i will not compare paint job of cranks vs weagle btw weagle are pushing 30$ why a weagle instead of a satisfier, fashion? get it?

Posts: 131 | Steve Jonesi - 3/31/2010 10:36 AM Is that $30 Canadian??? Hey guys, depends on where you shop. Our Mojo Weagles have always been $24.99. More for the Wild action tail version and 10 inchers. Both the Weagles and Wabulls have been selling at a pretty fast clip this spring. Once the Muskie Mojo baits are gone, they are gone. Looking forward to getting some of the Suick models in, in the near future. Attachments ---------------- ![]()
