You are correct guest. There are more episodes and less musky coverage. Love it when a big fish makes Gillepsie SHOUT for joy!

Less musky coverage, what? You'd rather watch a guy babble about all his sponsors like Keyes did this last week than see actual footage from that prior week with a guy that screams Frabill? Again, Keyes show isn't that great, it's a show that is decently put together, but again, it doesn't hold a breath to MuskyHunter TV, Bucher, or Simple Fishing with Mesikomer.

Peanut gallery? Clearly you aren't watching the same show I'm watching.

I've seen some pretty boring shows. Can't comment on Keyes as I've never really watched them. Everything is you need to use this product from this company. I watched a Musky Hunter show and think I saw 2 fish caught the rest was just jibber jabber. I haven't watched it since. Gillespie has the only product showcase that is worth anything....Johnsonville Brats.

I enjoyed watching Bucher when I was growing up. He didn't talk too much and just fished.

Best fishing show I ever watched was B&J Outdoors. Worst production, couldn't understand a word they said if it was a breezy day but they went cool places and just showed fish action. No babble about sponsors as I'm not sure they had any. They didn't have all the fancy bells and whistles, just a couple guys going out and fishing. About the only fishing show I actually miss watching.

How do you watch the episodes on the website? I see the list, but nowhere to click to play.

Im wondering the same thing. I see a couple shows are watchable but is there a place to watch them all?

What Gillespie does is unbelievable. To put out 52 new shows every year is amazing. And the fact that it's all "fresh" footage, usually within the previous week to 10 days prior to when it airs makes it even more impressive. It can't be easy to get that much good footage every week to put a show together.

That being said, I think what Keyes does is almost as impressive. To put 26 shows out every year is twice as many as most other shows. And the fact that most are on muskies has to be a huge challenge. I agree that not all the shows are the most exciting shows in the world (no different that MH, Gillespie, Bucher, etc.). I'm not a tournament guy. So the PMTT shows don't do a lot for me, personally. But I've always watched them. A show on muskies is better than any of the shows that don't fish muskies, in my opinion. And I can see why the tournament guys would enjoy them.

Through the course of Keyes' 26 shows, if you take the best of those shows and pit them against the best of the other shows mentioned here, I think they would stack up with any of them. Consider that The Musky Hunter, for example, airs only 13 shows. So you know they're airing the best of the best of their footage for the year on those shows. If they were to go to 26 shows like Keyes, you can be sure that some of their shows would be more watered down. After all, they would have to find footage for 13 more shows that wasn't good enough to make the 13 shows they DID air. Without seeing them or even know what they’re going to be on, we can all know that the 13 shows that air last will be better than the 13 infomercials that air in the Musky Hunter time slot after their season is over.

Either way, it can't be an easy job knowing that there's no way to make everyone in your audience happy with every show. This coming week’s show is more the norm of what we expect from Keyes. The action and excitement level is up a notch or five. I just watched the show online and it’s a good one. And other than “central MN”, the body of water is not named.

Alright, my 2 abe's, I LOVE the passsion Mike shows for the sport, how he actually gets EXCITED when he gets on a fish, regular guy, I like that. Lone wolf fishing...mixed feelings on that one. Any musky show is a good musky show.

Aaron, Keys regularly blabs where he's fishing. I remember one episode where they even had the MAP out pointing to where they were fishing! You of all people know the battles we have in MN to improve our fishery from the anti's much less from people who should know better.

Treats, I was actually referring to this week's show. I just watched it online and they didn't name the lake they were on. I'm on board with not talking about the body of water being fished for any TV show.

You must have watched a different show. This past Saturday's show they were on Petenwell, and they said that multiple times throughout the show!

This week's show, not last week's show. As in the January 16 show, it's online.

Some of you really need to lighten up (Guest). Mike and Steve (and others) are providing the audience with fishing! Something we all love to do. Yeah the tourney episodes may be boring for some, but they support our sport- so relax.

Like its a secret that lake erie holds huge eyes and smallies. Or green bay holds huge skis. That the Baha p has sailfish. And maine has lobsters. he he.
Petenwell is huge. I remember last year on the Next bite, Muskie god Pete Mania fishing little Wingra in Madison. And I don't see 500 boats there every weekend.
Well maybe now there will be lol. I watched the show last weekend too and agree It was a little drab. But some times so is the bite for me.

At least with Keyes you get a full show of musky fishing and not one 6 min segment after 20 mins of cookie cutter smallies week in and week out. Not to mention that bucher has to fish canada now to even make a musky segement. What happened to the Wisconsin (Vilas) days? The only thing I dont like about Keyes show is that they do name the bodies of water they are on and I feel that isnt right. But as far as in your face footage how could you ask for more? They make it feel like your in the boat with them! Come on guys!

I love the tournament coverage in the Keys shows.
For anyone who has ever fished in musky tourney, you understand the emotional highs and lows when you're fishing in a tournament. Not every day on the water is going to have tons of action and big fish, it's musky fishing. Keys does a great job of showing this.

Yet again, the guests seem to have the loudest complaints. I like the tripod cam, and I don't CARE if their cameras aren't the same quality that Muskyhunter or Bucher use. Jeeze, do you guys need it to be like watching the Lifetime Network here? For the most part, Bucher only has a camera held stationary watching him too - nothing very exciting. I'm surpsied so many guys like the musky content on his show. It's got maybe 5 minutes that consist of one musky that he caught, and then explained how he gunned his bucktail over the cabbage bed too keep it free of weeds.
Saying this - I still watch Bucher sometimes because it's got some musky content. Be happy with that!

As to Keyes tournaments, I don't find them the most exciting either, but are we going to totally bash and discount the entire show because there are a couple episodes every season that don't trip your trigger? Do you throw away a bait if it goes one or two outings without catching a fish?

My only complaint about that show is that they name bodies of water and I have no problem signing my name to that. There is no absolutely no need for them to name unknown/small systems on their show other than to boost their egos and image in the eyes of those people who are unable or unwilling to find them on their own. Honestly, I don't even think it's necessary to say "Central MN" as Aaron said they did in this episode. How about just MN, or WI, or NW Ontario. Why broadcast location to the tools who follow the next "hot" bite? Do they like fishing in crowds? Do they like ruining fisheries? I just don't get it.

Perhaps it isn't the show that many don't like. Perhaps it is the people hosting the show. Funny, very few stand up for a tournament circuit that would cause very little harm to the sport yet people get up in arms for a couple of guys who produce a 30 minute tv show that apparently states nearly every lake name and even points out spots on maps for all the world to see.

All you have to do is google Muskie fishing lakes, or lets say WI Muskie tour. They NAME every lake the tour hits plus pics of all the fish. I found some new hot spots LOL!! Keep up the good work boys! I enjoy the show!

Out of all the musky shows that have been on over the years can somebody tell me one show that beat the footage of Mike, Steve Genson, and Jason Hamernick on MIlle Lacs in November when they put 2 fish way over 40 lbs on film and in the boat and a 30 lber to boot?? Nobody will ever beat that footage! That was downright incredible footage! IMO.

That was one of the best shows they ever had. I sometimes go onto MuskieBreaths website and watch those three clips. Awesome!!!

I feel Keyes Outdoors is the best musky showed aired right now. Mike and his pro-staff are down to earth fellas that are out on a normal day of fishing just like I would do. There are some shows that they catch a few monsters and there are some days they don't have much action at all. That's what I like, is the reality of the show. Great job on the show Mike!

I think Keyes is the best musky show out there. They do a great job of showing all sides of musky fishing not just the big fish days. Musky hunter TV only shows fish 45" and bigger and they catch 4 a day which isn't a normal day in most of our boats. New musky anglers get a false sense of what musky fishing is all about by watching these kinds of shows. The Tourney shows didn't interest me much until I started to fish tournaments more and now they are a little more interesting. Mike and Steve are very aware of the fact that people don't love the tourney shows but the PMTT must give them some kind of kick back or they wouldn't show them. I guess if you don't like their show just don't watch. I'll keep the DVR recording them every Saturday.

I like the Keyes Outdoors production, but I also haven't found a musky video that I haven't liked. I find value in watching how other musky fisherman approach the sport.

However, I have a huge issue with telling the world where you are fishing, identifying effective patterns on those waters, and running around with a camera showing the spots. We can learn a lot about how they caught fish without spilling the beans on everything including location and a great screen shot of the location. Unfortunately, pressure is growing and combat fishing sucks. I have seen pressure increase on some (near and dear) fisheries where they have filmed; fisheries which were hardly on the map before the episode. Is this a little sellfish of me? Yes. But I think all of us don't like competing to fish our home waters which we have countless hours invested in learning and understanding.
