From Muskies CA Website :

"the fish was released strong and healthy and it was only justice that the release director slid this beast back in the water, "

Oh my God, what a hog! He has to have the best Christmas ever. It's been 7 years since I've seen a fish of that caliber. Thanks for reminding me why I fish for muskies. Sweeeeeeeeeeeet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have fun!

It seems apparent that the fish was hit with the scag on the motor! See how the back is lower in the middle?
Actually, It is no big deal as I caught two just like this one in the snow yesterday on Pewaukee Lake while I was testing a couple prototype Slammer Crankbaits before the Chicago Muskie Expo!
Congratulations! Anyone trying to rip on catching a monster like this is showing nothing more than envy! What a special way to end the year!

Don't tell anyone, but I think those guys in the orange survival suits were sent from another planet to catch all the big fish! Quiet, they may be listening right now! LMAO! Nice fish!

Thanks guys for the congrats , as you can see I am a happy man , I was fishing with my fishing partner of 30 + years so to get a Hen like this together was a true thrill , it was released very quickly after a few pics and swam away strong , I will post some more pics later

It was caught on a believer , in 33 fow and i couldn.t tell you if it is the biggest this year ,there is still 9 days left in the season and when you have guys like Greg Renolds , Roy Brunner ( muskie ace ) and Dave Curtis ( Fishin Fanatic ) all fishing hard for the Big Migratory hen's then it won't be over til the very last day ,it may be cold and snowing but you warm up quick on the rip Tight Lines !

If this works here is a pic of Dave Curtis release director for Muskies Canada holding the fish just before release , he really didn't want a pic of him holding the fish but it was a team effort and a just reward for the hours and hours spent chasing fish together , Dave is one of the top Guide / Anglers in Eastern Ontario and without a doubt half the credit belongs to him , in 4 foot waves i would never have been able to boat this fish myself Thanks Dave !

Bill-

absolutely beautiful fish! congrats on a fish of a lifetime! hope you had a really good camera for that one...if it were me I'd blow that picture up to a lifesized poster...as amazing as that thing looks on the screen, it had to be soo much more impressive at full scale!

interestingly I saw the pic of a similar fish- 59 x 27 caught up that way about a month ago. the pic got pulled shortly thereafter...someone was apparently afraid that Canada might have a spike in tourism, LOL...glad you don't mind sharing your success and spreading envy across the land

so I gotta know, is the orange survival suit a prerequisite to catch a big Larry fish or is that just the secret weapon??? maybe its time for me to invest...hmmm

congrats again!

How do you get something that big out of the net? OMG it's just huge!

Love the winter fishing garb, do they come in any other colors?

We call them Find-um suits , the water is cold and rough this time of year and the suits help the coast guard find the body

Jomusky:

HEAVY! No reason to "guess" it is just BIG, but we'll never know the weight for sure. GREAT fish indeed, contrats to the angler and guide.
