Coffee.

If that isn't enough, 5 hour Energy Drink. Works, but tastes like monkey poo.

I use the 5 hour energies also, I found that berry tastes the best and it still isn't good tasting, tastes better cold then warm, wash it down with a Mt Dew and your good to go.

I don't think I've ever had an energy drink. Surprised so many of you use them. Don't you get a bad crash after a while? I usually just try to drink water. If it's hot out, I never drink enough, but I try to drink as much as possible.

I also try to take something to eat if I'm going to be out for a while. Stuff to make a sandwich, some chips, something with sugar like cookies or candy, and maybe fruit like an apple. Usually just some sandwich meat and cheese and some chips is enough to leep me going though. Sometimes pop, but that's usually more for taste than energy.

I think staying hydrated and keeping some calories in you goes a long ways!

Dt. Dew mostly for me, heard about alot o' guys using Monster, etc..not sure there is really any diff between that and coffee....tried to buy a can once, but when faced with a massive wall of different colored cans all touting specific herbs and potions, I got confused and went back to the Dt. Dew....

after 10 hours of fishing and you want to keep fishing a energy drink is a great way to help you stay on your game. your comment sounds like a "weekend warrior". notting wrong with guys that can only fish on weekends, but if you fish 4,5,6 days a week and work 5 days a week you will slow down and your focus will suffer and you my just miss that monster. if staying focus is a problem then its a good on to have.

I like the 5 hour stuff, monster, red bull and the passion fruit rockstar. Some other stuff does make u sick/shakey and don't really help.I hardly every drink pop in the boat anymore and bring lot's of water and coffee.I believe in the food thing too.NO food and that really makes for along day.I work nights,6 days a week so when I do get to fish I'am sleepless and on my 2nd wind.I really miss a big ol'can of whipa$$.They don't sell that stuff around me any more and I really liked it!!!!!!Blummer

I used to drink all that junk energy drinks twice a day, and along with a redbull and vodka as my drink of choice. UNTIL I found out a freind who was drinking 2-3 cans of monster a day had to go to the hospital with back problem, he is only 23. He found out the energy drinks he was drinking basically dehidrated him and starting weaking his freaking bones from the inside out! Its not the sugar in the drinks its all the other crap they put in it! (although 8-12 table spoons of suger is awful as well) those drinks are dangerous period. I now only have black coffee in AM and 16oz water in morning, big gateraid at Noon, and water to end the day. It will blow your mind to google "dangers of energy drinks" oh lastly al lthat suger and crap in those drinks, makes the fat on your body turn HARD.

I stand by what I stated, look up the effects these have on you long term. If you need the rush of a muskie that bad, so be it, but in the long run you are shortening your ability to do just that, weekend warrior or not.

I can see it being bad if you take them often.  Taking a 5 hour energy  once or twice a month isn't going to do much to you in the long run.

I guess that assumption can be made, but then again, if you look at it that way, if a person shoots themselves with only half a bullet it shouldn't hurt.

Just havin fun, so no offense intended.

Pepsi Max or Diet Dew if I need the energy. Otherwise, some gatorade or water usually suffice. Energy drinks are absolutely awful for you.

coffee in the morning, gatorade frost or granola bars for calories in between meals, diet pepsi or diet Dr Pepper if another installment of caffeine is needed. Otherwise, I'm trying to remember water is good for a person. Salmon fishing at 3 in the morning doesn't help promote energy. Unimproved launches at 1 in the morning coming off from muskie fishing doesn't help either.
