Precisely.
Shimano is a respected brand and builds quality equipment, but this particular thread is not about them. Be patient, there will be Shimano threads placed soon enough!

And then the Okuma guys will join in!!!

I love my Toro S 60. I have it dialed in and have had 1 backlash and no problems with the reel engaging with the unbalanced power handle. Anyone I've shared a boat with would be proud of that... If the new model fits my needs, there may be a couple old Toros on the buy/sell forum.

I'm sworn to secrecy on the model I've been testing since last fall but it'll be a huge hit, I can tell you that.

You can cut the anticipation with a knife here. Gear-nuts everywhere are preparing their credit cards for a full-on tackle storm. God I wish I wasn't broke.

I agree with Muskie Nut. It's a larger Abu-matic!

I hope it's a cool color. That's the #1 thing I look for in a reel.

I'm with JakeSt. Croix. Since there already is a black Beast, and a white Toro s, how about going retro on making it original Ambassaduer red. That would be cool. kdawg

Arrived today, and this nails it on the color. Very cool looking reel. Three handles, and a great feel to her. I'll run it tonight for League and report back tomorrow.

Great addition to the Revo Toro line.

The surprise for later is very cool too.

Revo rocket red. Any insight on line pick up speeds? Maybe geared like that jigging reel overseas?

A toro, with a higher gear ratio at what 42 IPT? Sure to make somebody happy.

Guess 1:7.5 if its a 60 size and 1:8.5 if its the 50 size.

Love the double power handle.

So I'm assuming it's a beast type reel. What gears?

The picture says 107cm per turn, so it would be 42". Which makes it a 1:7.5 if its a 60 size in the picture and 1:8.5 if its the 50 size in the picture.

How do you know the full spool dimensions?

As mentioned, it depends on the size shown in the picture, an until mr. Sworrall gives some facts, its just a guess like anything else so far in this topic.
If the 50 beast in 1:4.9 brings in 24" and this brings in 42" then the new reel is (42/24=)1,75 times faster, which would need a gear ratio of 1,75*4,9 = 8,5.

Got it. Just wondered if all 50-sized Beasts, S's, NaCl's, etc. all have the exact same full (or 80% full or whatever is used for IPT calc) spool diameter, and likewise all 60-sized Revo Toro reels. Seems like they're pretty close, and your gear ratio estimates fall right in line I think.

Lefty?

This is purely speculation, but I would assume yes. Abu is good about having lefty options

Most abu s on the us market also end up being sold in europe so a lefty is almost guarantied every time abu releses a new reel

Some serious line pickup. Probably not on my must have list, though!
