The Toyota had Wisconsin plates, and he stated he was on reservation land which it appeared to be the Bad River area near Ashland. The after premiere segment had him playing/chasing Sofie the happy resort dog in front of the Nielsen's Resort painted rock. I got to give him credit for doing a good job throwing a big fly and his acting ability of keeping a straight face. Mr. Pursch has got to have some good stories from the time he spent with him. |

| I'm not an "everything happens for a reason" kind of guy, but oddly just clicked this show to start recording the series again 3 days ago, with no knowledge of this episode coming. I used to watch it years ago, well, at least the last 10 minutes of each show.
Can't wait to watch this, especially after reading this thread and having fished those waters! |

That was definitely Canada and that was either the Wabiigoon River or another that connects to it....the license plate Ws probably just from a lodge owner who was his guide.

Absolutely. No ads, no shout-out to the lure company when he lands it. Guy fishing all day and not catching anything but hammerhandle northerns. By far the most realistic muskie fishing show I have ever seen. |

I bet he caught several musky during filming but played the 10k cast mystique ...had to add drama. The spirit on the rock and landing a 48 on small gear was all climatic staging. He probably got that on the first day.
Actually, that was legit. It was a 50 actually. Jeremy had basically given up and wanted to catch a fish (to get some semblance of sanity back - he actually mentioned this on the 10 minute "after show"), and had just done the tobacco offering. No joke...they dropped the minnow and a big Musky grabbed it, but they didn't know at first it was a big musky... |

Believe it or not, Gord, who was on the show and owns a lodge on Eagle, said that was really what happened. He said that was the only fish that was caught the whole time. He said Jeremy caught it on the jig and minnow too. As crazy as it seems, it was apparently the real deal. |

Location: North St. Paul, MN | I liked it. Showed what it's actually like. Sure, it was hoakie at times, but fun to watch musky fishing without "shimano this, double cowgirl that, st Croix, musky innovations, phantom, llungen, Lund, ranger, skeeter, Yamaha, amsoil...phew, I'm out of breath!
(I know, I know, those shows aren't on without the sponsors. Just saying it was fun to watch without all the pimpin'.) |

Location: Bloomington, MN | Someone stated that he is booked at Rowan for a month this year. If he is even booked for a week, he has then developed "Muskie Fever"! If that is the case, he might be dabbling on this web site! This man finally went fishing somewhere where he wasn't in fear for his life, had to eat grubs, crap in a bucket, or be the locals next dinner.. He probably enjoyed the torment the elusive muskellunge imposed on his peace, just like the rest of us. This man yanked Zander after Zander out of the cooling pond of Chernobyl while wearing a radiation detector beeping and chirping more than a Devo tune with the hopes of catching a deformed Wells Catfish. I now know it is a fine line between hating and throughly enjoying these reality shows. When Jeremy got impaled with the spinnerbait, he probably couldn't believe on how fast Don Pursch moved in the comfy Ranger to get that bait out of his arm. I sure Yamananclakclak,his previous guide in Guyana, didn't have a pair of Knipex side cutters. Mr. Wade welcome to the comforts and mental/physical discomforts of muskie fishing.

The Land Cruiser in show was fly guide Brad Bohen's. A fly fisherman friend of mine gave away the secret that this program first made an unpublicized visit to the Hayward Area (I was told Chippewa but could have been Bad as the water was sure reddish). They then carried onward to Ontario.

The people I personally know WHO WERE THERE don't BS. I understand "doubt" is a part of the musky "community", regretfully necessary because of those who embellished in the distant past. Believe what you want, doesn't make much difference to me.

| I was fishing out of Sennett's boat this last year in early August up on the Chip and he was talking about how River Monsters had contacted him to film a show up there. Ty said they kept rescheduling and they were supposed to be up there sometime in late August or early September. Not sure what all happened with them going to Hayward, if they stopped there at all to film, but Canada makes a little more sense to try and film a show in. |

Oh yeah, there was plenty of BS in the show, don't get me wrong. But that part you mentioned was actually legit, the way that fish was caught (fishing walleye) and when (late in the trip, last day I think but don't quote me on that). I can't speak to whether the show embellished with the First Nation "visits" afterward. But tobacco was put on the rock, and then what you saw happened...a 50" on a walleye rig fishing walleye.
The craziest part was seeing the way that fish was hooked, I'm just shocked they got it especially with it coming up out of the water like that, etc. That was a big powerful fish. |

watch the show with a play by play and drink every time he flat out lies, stretches the truth or embellished something and tell me you can still say your name. of course the drink should be a crown and coke ... |
