I think some of the people with good jobs may actually fish the least. High paying jobs usually come at a cost of more years of school and long hours on the job. Its tough to catch fish when one is not on the water.

Good luck all. :-)

Herb what you are saying is ridiculous.

Sled, I had a of job that paid a lot of money, well into six figures, but I walked away because it was way to demanding. Working 70-80 hour weeks means no time for fishing and little time for family. Lots of cash means nothing when all one does is work. I've turned down a number of jobs just like it for that reason. My current job doesn't pay as well and I may be running the same boat the rest of my life, but at least I'll be fishing.

Nothing wrong with that. The only way I'll ever get another boat is if i get divorced and find a rich girlfriend. :D

Just graduated. Another Mechanical Engineer.
Worked with my hands for quite a while after high school, but I wanted to be able to still use them to continue fishing muskies when I get to retire someday. I also needed more money for muskies.

Retired City Police Investigator. Then recruited by the State of Wis. as an Analyst and Consultant on various anti crime projects.

Tried my hand at guiding for a couple years. Found out that guiding muskies is hard work versus lots of fun. Muskie fishing should be enjoyable so I quit, best move I have made.

I am a private practice psychologist, but may have to file for bankruptcy after spending over $3000 to fish 3 times a year... Maybe my clients will move to MN so I can move home???

Wait, the original post was '9 to 5'.

Mine is a '7 to midnight'.

Cool job, though.
