Posts: 87 | First musky ever was a 18 inch baby caught on a super rooster tail on Big Vermillion lake Hudson ontario. (good to know natural reproduction is strong on Vermillion!) First musky actually targeting musky was a 38 incher on a mepps musky maribu gold with black skirt.

I find it funny we all know the bait, shirt, hat, spot, weather condition, lake size of our first musky 20+ years ago but somehow forget our wife's birthday and our anniversary that happens every year at the same time...

Posts: 620 Location: Seymour, WI | Late 80's, N. Twin Lake, Vilas, Co. 34" muskie followed a silver mepps muskie killer. I didn't do a figure 8 and the fish started to swim away. I made a bad panicked cast back out in front of the fish and it followed in again and hit on the first turn of the figure 8. I can remember the whole thing very clearly. Wish I had a picture of the fish.

Posts: 250 | 32 incher on an orange on orange Rizzo Whiz on Lake Wingwa. Told my partner that it was the stupidest looking bait I have ever seen. After a backlash every 5th cast, she ate out and I screamed " I can't fight this thing"!! After a quick net job, I shook for 10 minutes and I knew then that this was the fish for me.

Posts: 136 | Jig head and a minnow while fishing out of the back of the boat on Cedar while my buddy was casting for Musky out the front of the boat. My first Musky might have been 17" max. I did not fish for Musky at the time but he has since gotten me hooked. i initially refused to Musky fish and would always target other species out the back of the boat while he targeted musky. however, it all changed when saw him pull up an absolute silverback gorrilla on a hawg wobbler. After seeing that fish I started buying musky gear as soon as we got home from that trip and have not stopped since.....

Posts: 246 | First muskie I caught was on a small floating rapala going for trout. I remember thinking it was an odd looking pickerel then I figured it out. It was about 16" long. The first one I caught targeting them was 33" on a Mepps musky killer.
