Posts: 13688 Location: minocqua, wi. | did the guest of honor (the guy who lives by the landing who started it) have his own green room? or preferred seating? or a soapbox message preamble before the meeting? or is he just another guy attending the hearing with everyone else? sounds like the call for participants and the bus helped quite a bit ... nice story and nice updates!

What data was that? Aaron Meyer read it, I believe the data is unpublished. Hopefully Aaron can comment more on the data that is being misrepresented.

He spoke. Referenced Miltona stocking, and stated they'd like to see the walleye numbers that are stocked in Miltona to be stocked in Pelican.

Posts: 16632 Location: The desert | MNDNR has robust data showing there is strong scientific evidence that the way musky are managed in Minnesota poses no environmental harm to the fisheries that are in. Paraphrased from the MNDNR fisheries chief.

Posts: 16632 Location: The desert | Meeting wrapping up. I know I'm not everyone's favorite poster on this board, but I'd like to thank everyone that came out, wrote emails, made phone calls. It was very, very cool to see all of us here in support of our sport. Everyone kept a level head and represented our sport well. Thanks to Muskies inc and their chapter that brought members. As well as Thornes and Happy Hooker (despite his fantastic use of the comma) for arranging the musky express. If I'm ever rich, I'll buy you all a beer.

"But if they'd have had the meeting in July there'd have been more of them there" If it were truly important to them, they should have come back from Arizona. We had people who came back from Canada to be there.

Posts: 1760 Location: new richmond, wi. & isle, mn | Thanks for the update Mike. Sounds like it went well. Glad to hear it was a good turnout and the group kept their cool. Went through this bs in the eighties on Deer Lake. Hopefully with the same results. To me it sounded like the "this is my lake" battle.

Swearing and yelling at the fisheries guy from my office about the crappies getting eaten. His wife was angry too. They showed up angry.
