Just wondering which brands of gloves u guys are using for casting in the fall?? Ive tried a few different types but im curious to find a brand that repels water , keeps hands warm and dry while casting, and still allows easy use of tieing on lures.

The only gloves I care for are the ice armor gloves. You will have to take them off to tie knots and change lures. For me, fingerless gloves or gloves with holes will keep my fingers wet and cold. The gloves I mentioned can have ice forming on them and keep my hands warm.

Try the "Kast Steelhead Glove". I'm pretty impressed and I've been searching for the perfect glove ever since I've had 2 surgeries on my hand. I was sold on the "Serius" glove but not that has taken a backseat to the Kast Steelhead Glove. A fly fisherman designed this glove to be specifically for the fisherman. If you know anything about diehard Steelhead guys.... They fish the coldest months of the year, always getting hands wet and usually don't use a full fingered glove since they need to be able to feel the fly line in their hands. Now try and design a glove that can do all of this...pretty tough to do...the Kast Steelhead Glove I think has met these requirements. I've had no issues fly casting or having good dexterity along with the glove not getting wet at all. The thumbs on outside of glove even have a soft plush area to wipe your dripping nose in the cold and won't chap your nose up. At $79.95 I really think they are worth every penny especially for guys who NEED gloves to fish in the cold weather. Check them out! I'm impressed and have tried EVERYTHING on the market. I still do my trick of adding high end surgical latex gloves underneath with a hand warmer. This system has been flawless....so far.

I'm in the same boat. Has any of you guys tried Stormr Cast gloves? They're at R and H for a decent price and look pretty comfortable.

Amazon has them as well as the Kast website. I only use latex surgical gloves underneath because my one hand becomes extremely cold (more than others) due to two surgeries on a finger. They are certainly not needed but they help hold a hand warmer in place since I defintely need one in my one hand when it's extremely cold out. My hands have yet to get wet, damp or any other way using these gloves. I can cast (fly or baitcaster) no issues at all. Thumbing the spool has not torn up the glove either. So far these are the best I've found and as mentioned before I'd tried nearly all of them. I know them seem pricy but for someone like me....I think they are worth the cost cause they do stay dry and warm without the bulkiness of a glove. I soaked my hands at home in a bowl (keeping them submerged) in cold water and never got wet. Pay attention to the website since they have guidelines for measuring your hands and having the glove fit for the size of your hand. Nothing is worse than having a glove that is too big and trying to cast or grab things.

I think we are talking about 2 different products. The ones i was looking at are by Stormr. Theyre made from the same material wet suits are made from. Actually I am about to order a pair and hopefully will be able to go out this weekend and give them a try. Will post the results.

I have been wearing the Strike Elements Second Skin gloves and their Angling gloves with out any complaints. Ive been using the angling gloves a little more cause I can fold back the thumb and pointer fingers to make casting a little bit easier.

Do the kast steelhead gloves fit like normal gloves or do they run small or big

I think they run a little big if I had to guess but not 100% sure. Make sure you go to the website and follow the guidelines on how to measure your hand. The site will tell you what size you need. They are a fairly thin glove but surprisingly dry and warm. I actually bought a large sized glove and its a little big but I did that on purpose so I could put a surgical latex glove underneath with a hand warmer. I'm 5'8", 170# and normal sized hands so I could have gotten the mediums which would have fit perfectly but went up a size to a large so I could stuff some warmers in there. The new product I'm considering trying is the all new Cabelas battery operated heated clothing line (socks, gloves, jacket, pants, etc). I wonder how the gloves would work with casting all day?? For now..I'm pretty sold on Kast Steelhead Gloves. Maybe reach out the owner on the website? He should be able to help...

I just got a pair today. My hand measured out at 9.5 which, according to the sizing chart on the Kast website, showed it as either a large or an XL. I went with the XL and I am glad I did. I 'd recommend going for a larger size especially if you want to wear a pair of liners for some more warmth.

Update on Stormr Cast gloves, not Stelhead. Was able to get out today and give them a try. Fit perfectly, was able to rig suckers and switch lures without any problem but after while of fishing got wet. Definitely not waterproof as advertised. Alltough they kept my hands warm the whole time on water, temperature was in low 40s and windy. But for u guys up north would recommend ones mentioned above.

Was recently given a pair of th3legend gloves. They're medium thickness gloves that I really like. They have good grip, keep your hands dry and keep your hands warm.
