Over the weekend I put up 16 more feet of L bracket on the wall to hang lures bring the total to to around 56 feet. Just for example I have just over 100 glide baits. I have 30 Hughes rivers. I have 13 teek neeks. I have even counted how many tr twitchers, Bagley monster shade I have but its up there. I am approaching 800 lures. Yes I have a problem. I know I am not the only one.

That's absolutely normal.

Nothing to worry about.

If you are catching fish you don't have a problem, if you aren't then you do...

it becomes a problem when you say you have a wall of 800 baits and no pictures for us to drool over.

That's awesome! It's only a problem if your wife cares. If she doesn't or you're not married make it 1000 haha. Im jealous and wouldn't mind seeing some pictures myself.

Please do post pictures. The Muskie porn is always nice to see, but especially since I'm in the process of putting up a 36 x 36 building for the boat, truck, and gear. Soon all that gear will have enough space to be clearly seen. I need more evidence to prove to my wife that I'm not the only one.

I figure fishing costs about the same amount of money I'd need to spend on therapy if I couldn't fish, so what's the harm?

Never underestimate the Shumway Flasher. I would tell you how many Shumway Little Giant Flashers I have but lost count a few years ago. I'll have to revisit that one some time this winter...

Maybe I can help...

My favorite flasher has three fish on it, the largest being 49.5". It would be stupid not to have a backup of that lure.

My second favorite flasher is a color that Bruce made up for me at one of the shows a few years ago. Since it's a custom combination of blades and tinsel and marabou that you won't find at R&H or anywhere else, it would have been silly to only have him make one.

The "martian" color is an Eagle Lake staple. (it was hot a few years back anyway) I had a day where a good dozen pike up to 41" put a serious hurtin' on my favorite martian. It was pretty well wrecked by the end of the day. If I didn't have a backup? Wow.

Then there's the standard colors. We had a week where black/smoke blades/red tinsel was the ticket. When the fish finally destroyed mine, I had to fish with a different color. I should have had a backup.

I loaned one to Samantha. Three casts later she caught a 45 on it. It's now is no longer mine. I should have had a backup.

Lures get wrecked, they get caught on rocks, sometimes you have to cut the hooks off or even cut the lure apart... It's just dumb to only have one of any given color!

Yup, one of my all time favorites. I throw it all of the time and should throw it more often than I do. The white one with one silver and one orange blade is my favorite but they all work.

I'm coming to the realization that I have become a lure collector…. I'm only 21 and have roughly 100 baits and climbing.. Oh, and I tournament bass fish as well. $$$$

Congratulations on the great start Todd... but just remember. Someone, somewhere has way more baits than you. The only problems I see are that you don't fish enough (does anyone?) and you're from Oswego.

The solutions.... buy a warehouse full of lures and move to Eagle Lake, ON.

Think of all the shoes your wife could have bought. Reminds me of an episode of Sex and the City. Na, you're all right. Money better spent.

Here are some pics. I still have 9 full 3700 series plano boxes of baits not hung yet. I posted sections of my neek neek, HR, bagley, slammer, tr twitcher and jointed trolling baits. I know, I am working on that bench! Used my smart phone should have used my camera.

That's insane. I just started seriously chasing muskies a few years ago and have just under 100 lures in a musky monster that is chucked full with planos in the sides also full.. I already find myself only using a handful and have several lures in there that I don't see myself ever using again.. Other than a couple here or there that I'm told are the hot lure or I see something new that I like- I don't see myself buying many more (maybe 4-5 a year tops)... While it'd be great to have 1000 lures, how many do you actually use? What does the average guy have on here?

Yikes, I thought I was alone......

I buy and make my own bucktails every year. I try them out, then chop them up and put different blades on, and then eventually figure out I have WAY too many that I will never be able to use and then sell some with the intent of not buying anymore.

It is the last part about not buying anymore where my plan always seem to go awry .....
