Posts: 572 | A little hard to believe anyone would like that for a logo, much less the name of infamous. However, it does fit the meaning of infamous ...."having an extremely bad reputation" http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/infamous Oh, there are other meanings too, but none seem to have any positive meaning to me. It even took me a couple of seconds to make out the word infamous on the logo. Perhaps I have said more than I should have, but it is a big turn off to me.

Posts: 791 Location: WI | Thanks guys. I have been selling my baits for 9years under the the name Trophyseeker Lure Co. Most of you have never heard of that unless local to the central wi area. I have hand made all my baits out of woods like cedar and hard maple. This year we began the process of converting to resin to for increased durability and consistent action. My tournament partner and long time friend Aaron has partnered with me to assist in the molding process so I can focus on painting as well as custom paint and repaint of others baits. We decided to go with a more aggressive name and look to go with the ferocity of the fish we chase. Like Jj said The name is not up for debate. We have been using the name for a year now and I like it. Just thought I would share the logo that we came up with after several attempts with several artists. I went with a tattoo artist for the badass look that I wanted. And I hope to associated it with good quality baits with a custom look to every one. Thanks for the feedback. Posts: 572 | Looks like everyone else likes your logo. It does give a "badass look" that you were wanting. Of course, the most important thing is having a good reputation of producing quality baits. Best of luck.

Posts: 546 Location: MN | Looks great. if you could make the "infamous" a little more legible it may help your cause. I do like the styling though. I would think that you would want to be able to read your brand from a distance and know what it says

Posts: 1202 Location: Money, PA | Its nice, however, honestly I think you have a bit too much going on...The illustration is fine, but the I'm not big on the fonts....you have two totally different looks and the top one can hardly be read. I think in a logo, you want something bold, simple and to the point. I'm just offering my honest opinion here. With the illustration, if it were me, I would eliminate the outline on the "bones" fish and stick to enhancing the whole skeletal theme on the muskie. Maybe something like solid black bones with a red highlight around the outside of the bones. Good Luck

Posts: 1084 Location: Aurora | Opinion here - Do "Infamous" as the bones (using bone font of course) inside the body of the fish. Then, do "Custom Musky Tackle" on the 3 fins along the bottom of the fish (i.e. Custom on the one back by the tail, Musky on the middle one, etc), using a font that mimics what's already in the fins. Enlarge the fish until it's all readable.

Posts: 791 Location: WI | All input positive or negative is appreciated. That's why I asked. I agree Paul. I had originally asked for a milder font with no outline on the fish. I will post a pic of that one also. Hard part of this is I want something original. Anyone can print a font on a computer. This was all hand drawn. I know the text is a little much but it has grown on me. Gonna have to mess with it alittle. Attachments ---------------- image.jpg (67KB - 201 downloads)

Posts: 1202 Location: Money, PA | "Infamous" is your name, "Custom Musky Tackle" sticks out more to me....I would just do plain text or Ariel font smaller and straight down along the bottom of the hand drawn logo...this will separate the Custom Musky Tackle from the design. You certainly got something in the last pic you posted....all you have to do now is tweak the lettering and enhance with color and you will have something with character....Graphic design, its what I do

Posts: 791 Location: WI | Yeah the bottom lettering is stock font I printed out on the computer. I would agree that it doesn't match the rest.

Posts: 151 Location: Chippewa Falls, WI | trophy, I really like the logo (fish skeleton) and I also like the idea of making it unique...however it does have to be legible when it comes to advertising. The last pic you posted just needs a little different text or different coloring of "Infamous" so we can all read it and know what we're looking at. adubs

Location: Oswego, IL | I also agree the font should carry through the entire logo. Clean is way more attractive to me especially because your "logo" is technically branding your baits. Realize if you putting a logo on packaging (maybe one day you go retail) it will be much much smaller (and hard to read for some) unless of course you pack them in a shoe box. Also I actually liked the "lures", instead of "tackle". From what i am getting off this logo is you also make/sell leaders, hooks, etc etc.. etc..everything. if your specializing in "custom lures" don't generalize yourself with "tackle". Just my opinion

Just my opinion Funny you should bring up the packaging. I do sell retail locally and was talking to the manager of my local musky shop and he brought up the same thing. Make it smaller and it may get cluttered. I have hundreds of old package inserts that are junk. Don't need any more. I really do like the infamous text because it's one off but gonna have to look at my options. Thanks for the feed back. I will update soon. Edited by Trophyseeker50 5/12/2014 11:08 PM

Posts: 791 Location: WI | I have a buddy working on some different fonts for this yet but I'm not totally sure that I won't go with the infamous this way. I thickened the letters a little and will have a different backround now that it will be digital. Just been messing with it alittle. Attachments ---------------- image.jpg (42KB - 252 downloads)
