for me its without a doubt the satisfier of course its not a big name like weagle, but hey who cares we don't cast names.it go deeper and make more noise than the weagle and the hookup ratio is really good.i think some have been made a lil bit differently from a model to another, but mine move exactly like this one in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OetM4OMjmtg

Posts: 2025 | Sorry to hijack this, but what size weagle? 8" or 10"?

Posts: 32914 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Both sizes catch fish. I like the 8" better.

Posts: 4080 Location: Elko - Lake Vermilion | I've caught more on the 8" Weagle but the 10"model makes more noise and moves more Water.... I've also fished the 8" one 5 times more than the 10" one..

Posts: 190 Location: Savage, MN | I too say the weagle. The 10" has drawn more strikes for me but less hook ups. Can never rule out user error though.

jdsplasher - 2/2/2014 10:06 PM Weagle!!! X 4 I had a satisfier, your right, It does run deeper...IT SINKS... it sinks when you work it or literally when it fall on the water?it could be related to your leader or the way you work it.the margin between a good one that move a ton of water from one that literally sinks is very small, sometimes even the weight of a treble hook is too much. btw why do you keep it?

Posts: 1906 Location: Oconto Falls, WI | In the past I would have said the Fish Stick HD, but last year I may have found one that will top it. Only time will tell. Keep an eye out for the the Ortin! What's great about the Ortin is it not only has the side to side splash, but it also "flops" as it goes side to side do to the flatter sides compared to other WTD baits. Both baits are easy to work fast or slow, in calm or rough water. ![]()

Posts: 120 | Recently saw video of the Ortin... man it does look nice! Gonna have to order a couple when they become available. The weighting system is another unique aspect of that bait. As it is now the wooden lunker punker is by far my favorite wtd bait.

Posts: 136 | for me its a Viper hands down. Just preference though. I just started Musky fishing a few years ago and a good friend gave me a Viper as my first WTD topwater and it has stuck ever since. I prefer the small size over their larger size for some reason but they both work well. My guess is had he gave me a Weagle for my first WTD topwater I would have stuck with those as well. Both are great, I just prefer the Vipers.

Posts: 86 | Depends on the wind ... if we have some chop can't beat the clunk of a 7" doc!!! On glass water I like the small viper, plus i love that when I get 10 ft from the boat I drop my rod tip and rip and it goes under and glides like a glider.. several tigers ate boatside for me this yr woth this bait 12" below the surface walking it in ... love the lil viper

Posts: 2025 | A 10" Weagle is $30. It's 2.5 inches longer and weighs 6 oz, compared to a Giant Jackpot is 7.5 " and 2.2 oz. I started with the Giant Jackpot, but switched to the Weagles because of the concern others noted about Jackpots being blown out of the water. I find it easier to work Weagles, both the 8" and 10".
