Posts: 1292 Location: Walker, MN | I didn't catch it yet but I have pulled 'skis off of a spot that has a wheel chair sitting on the bottom about 30' off the end of a dock. Really weird. It is only visible on the brightest calm days. I'm saving that one for just the right person in the boat.

Posts: 8863 | Numerous aquatic birds, a few turtles, a giant carp, lots of lures, jigs and fishing line, and what I thought might have been a log at first. It was HEAVY. As I got it closer to the boat and could finally see it, I started thinking "rope? Some sort of tow cable? What the heck IS that??" It wasn't until I had finally manhandled it to within reach when we realized what it was. I never really thought about how they get power out to the island homes from the mainland until that day. Posts: 157 Location: Lincoln, NE | Ripping pounders on a sand flat I thought I had a hit, reeled in and had a carp scale about the size of a half dollar stuck on my hook. Wonder what he thought when he got T-boned by my pounder doing about Mach 10.

Posts: 123 | I saw a guy I know catch a loon in the arse. It was kinda sad, kinda funny. Completely unintentional. Then all these other loons showed up and were gathering around his boat. He had to reel it in, and cut the hooks. I think he was using a medussa, so you wouldn't wanna leave that thing hanging from a loons arse.

Posts: 243 | My partner hooked a loon that hit a jerk bait boatside during the WMT Championship---netted it, wrestled the bait out of its wing and let it go. Bird was fine, but anyone who's had a loon chase knows your first reaction is that it's a 50 lb musky. Also brought up an anchor after a 10 minute fight that ended up being a gift at Xmas.

Dingleberries aren't particularly enjoyable, imagine a fish hook!

Posts: 427 | While trolling at an Illinois lake we came up on a hump and I knew my deep rod was going to get into the bottom. About that time the drag started singing telling me I was hung. Lugged it in and it was a broken rod with a calcutta on it. Its line was hung on something which I never did get up. Too bad it was a left handed reel.

Posts: 25 | I had a bald eagle swoop over my head and grab a Bobbie bait, taking off into the air. I froze for a split second then gave a little tick, prompting the feathered beast to drop it. As it hit, another unseen eagle appeared and made a play at it. I jerked hard, diving the lure while screaming at the thing.

Location: Eastern Ontario | caught a seagull but the best fight was from a 2 foot square piece of plywood that I had caught almost on center. It would go one way then take off in another direction thought I had a monster. Another memorable fight was a 10 pound lake trout with the front treble of a Quebec Train in its mouth and the back treble in its dorsal coming in sideways.

Posts: 639 Location: Hudson, WI | Here's another... My friend Todd and I were out trolling one day and his rod goes. He's fighting it..."can't tell what this is"...when it gives him a big power run. This is a big fish. Then it starts coming in easy."Comin' at the boat!" Then it really bull dogs him 20 feet from the boat. "It's a DANDY!...wait...it's not a fish." It was one of those old bi-fold lawn chairs that kept opening and shutting on the way in.

Posts: 58 | Had a Red Tail Hawk swoop down on a glider, grabbed it and started flyin away with it, was actually a few feet above my head, gave it a good yank, and of course the Bait came flyin rite back at my face, close call but turned out alright!

Posts: 994 Location: Minnesota: where it's tough to be a sportsfan! | a plastic stack chair and then the guy in the back of the boat cast to the same spot and hook another one! Try moving around the boat hauling two of those to the garbage! Also a divers face mask, fairly good one too, it was suspended in weeds and got hooked in the strap. Someone mentioned catching Buffalo Carp earlier. When the Buff's are banging Muskie baits I am all about it! had one snap a XH muskie rod two years ago! But the weirdest thing ever caught while Muskie fishing in my boat was a lawn tractor. Looks like it was parked on the hill and must have rolled in. Was completely submerged in about 5 foot of water. Took a reef hawg to the steering wheel.

Posts: 8863 | Wait a minute... a mannequin?? That's funny in and of itself, but was there ever a point where you thought you might have just snagged a body? I gotta admit, trolling up a corpse could really f up a good day of fishing...
