Just wanted to know who you think, has the best paint jobs, on their lures.
Quality first, and color.
I have fished a lot of different baits, over the years. My personal best are Phil's, from American Hardwood Lures.
His paint jobs are second to none, in my opinion.

I'm not talking about guys that don't sell them, on the market, because some of the "basement guys" are true artists!!!!

I would have to go with Baker Baits. His lures always stand out from the rest when I am looking at the Musky Wall at the bait shop...

Out of buy off the shelf baits I like Phantom and Slammers. Very durable and eye catching. On the harder to get baits I like tuscarora with the snakeskin.

I agree with AHL. Mostly because they are such durable finishes. They look great too.

Supernatural big baits by big wood, the headlock and the supernatural have pretty awesome paint jobs along with great action and durabilty. Try one, you won't be disapointed.

Underrated for production baits - Drifter Tackle. Tons of choice, some wild stuff, too. Http://www.driftertackle.com

Custom baits - Bare Bones Baits. I drool at their website daily and have a batch of personal desires on the way. Http://barebonesbaits.com

For Crankbaits- Muskie Train Mike Mordas does some fantastic work.
Kermit Good, Donato and Angelo Garofalo and Chris Cretu are great St.Clair crankbait painters also.

Jerkbaits I really Like Ben Modica's work his paintjobs on his modivators is great.

Bill Schwartz of Slammer Crank Baits personally paints all his baits both standard colors and his annual Muskie Expo Show Custom Colors.
He has great color options that wear like iron!

I don't know if you can really say there is a best one. I think there are some that clearly stand out from the rest, but each has a different style and appeal.

Some that I really like:

-Hughes River and Terminator (retired) lures for being purely artistic.
-Wiley and Musky Train for great color and durability.
-Mark Smith for beautiful and unique paint jobs.
-Big Fork for creative new color schemes.
-Slammer for breaking out the flashy show colors. I think he (Bill) is very underrated when it comes to a discussion like this. Some people may not have seen some of his custom/show colors. See attached - no they are not for sale :).
-Novak for being realist and vibrant (Still trying to get one at a good price

I also think there are a couple of other painters/lures that could be in this discussion, but they just don't hold up over time. I think the durability of the paint is just as important as the color scheme when naming a "best paint job". Sure you can still catch fish, maybe even as many as when you first bought the lure, but if you want to hang with these guys (and some of the others that people have listed) you better learn how to make the paint and the clear coat stick/hold up over time.

Durability is the most important element.
What good is a pretty paint job, if it comes off with hook ware, or fish!

Musky treats have some nice jobs. Same with mulisha gliders (not as readily available yet) Kodiak paints them both

Novak Lures. He sells a lot on eBay. Gliders and crank baits. Simple awesome and unique paint jobs. Lures average $50-100 though. Too pretty to throw maybe! Collectible artwork for sure.
