![]() Posts: 33 | Yesterday we were blessed with some nice weather here in the northeast, so I took the chance to take my daughter on her first muskie adventure. We have boated quite a few nice pike together, with the typical progression going something like; FISH ON!!!... Daddy, daddy, daddy... can I reel it in?!?!?!? I hand the rod over and try to keep her from getting pulled in (or losing my rod/reel)! However, she has never been tangled up with a muskie... until now. We put in 3 or 4 hours, pounding my milk run with all of my confidence baits. Finally, when I switched up to a custom glider, I hooked up with this fat, angry 37 about 10 casts in!!! He gave her a good tussel and ran her around the front of the boat twice before she held him long enough to slide the net under. It was a pretty proud moment for dad when she immediately dropped the rod and started jumping up and down yelling "WE GOT A MUSKIE, WE GOT A MUSKIE, WE GOT A MUSKIE!!!!!!" Pap got the first call, and mom a close second... each time she told the story she was more excited! I think this picture is going to make it to the office desk...
