| Getting burnt out on the latest Greatest lures that don't work. Seems when the chips are down I snap on one of the old warriors Suick/ReefHawg/Smitty/Bobby/Wades/Eddie. Bam fish on. So I'm Manning up on old school baits.This is what I got so far. StidhamSensor/LindyTeddys/Fudally Musky Chaser/Monark Temor/ HighFin Fooler. Heck I even bought a Burmek. I know I need to replace the Windels Hunter I lost in the 80s but that one I'm finding tough to find.
So please chime in and tell me what else I need.

| Half Wave Good spoon Have not found one big enough. Got the Red Eye Musky Gold and silver and Husky JR Daredevels. And a big nice try Kush spoon.
Mud Puppy I don't like surface lures much. BUT one might bring good MOJO to the boat

| NOT going old school on the rod!!! Gunna dust off my Pikies and HiFin Flap tail. For got about the Cranes I have never owned one I better get afew. Got a lot of SwimWhizzs/Beleivers and Grandma's.
Wish I had one of those old Musky Fever catalogs they had some cool stuff in them.But then I didn't have the $$$ and if I did I was young and Dumb partied it away

Location: On the Niagara River in Buffalo, NY | I don't know about old school, but reverting back to crankbaits that were hot a few years back works for me.I believe if a certian crankbait is being used by most fishermen on the same water for many years the fish get imprinted to the movement of water caused by the crankbaits action.I have found that going back to crankbaits that worked years back catch more fish .Trophy Divers to Depthraiders to Legend Perchbaits to Legend Plows over 20 years and now back to Trophy Divers agian and connecting on Fatties again! |

At this point I suggest you tweak out what you already know. Old timers never waited for the next best bait to throw. They dialed in on what they learned with what they had.
ps - a 5.5' Fenwick pool cue is a great dedicated glide bait rod if your boat plants your feet close to or at the water's surface.

I still fish the old Cisco Kids, Suicks, Creek Chubs, Mepps Musky Killers they worked back then and they still work now. They never left the tackle box... |

Location: Muskegon Michigan | I also don't do well on the latest stuff. My arms Don't let me crank big Buck tails for long. Big rubber has still never produced a single fish for me. Windknot, yes get some crane baits . I have caught hundreds of muskies and Pike on the 205 and 206 Crane bait. You better get some soon as Old Bill is winding down. He is in his 70's and doesn't make as many baits as he used to. Top colors for me are white belly perch and both of his brown barred perch. You cant go wrong with the Suicks , Reef hawgs and Bobbies either. Our Talonzs Little Claw is a Michigan Favorite . Most of the guys here in Muskies inc chapter 47 catch lots of Muskies on them. I have two Grandma m-9 lures on the for sale forum right now. Those are old school for sure. Good luck. Mike |

| Gooch's Tally WaKER once properly tuned it make a very unique vibration and good sound. be careful don't winch them,they are not built for war the trebles hooks are really thin and the middle portion is really weak.im also a big fan of the old ccbc minnow,i always wonder why the lure maker seems to don't use them more than that,these lips can be use for a large variety of shape |

| One bait I was surprised didn't get mentioned. The B-Flat I love them!!! I got one we call Lorance because he's a fish finder. Had a trip we would fish prime spots with all kinds of lures. You would swear their wasn't a fish in the area. I would snap on Lorance BAM fish on or at least follow. And over a weeks time it was repeated at least 6 times.
My lures were from the 80s. After the trip my buddy ordered up a few new B-Flats. I had let him borrow one of mine. The frist time he used one of his he didn't like it and asked to use one of mine. He like the action of mine but hated his?
Well we found out why. I have access to some X-Ray equipment. X-rayed His and mine side by side. Results were His had 1/2 the lead mine did!!!!
Mine was made in Florida his China.
Point- Just because it looks Old School don't mean it is!!!!
