Location: Contrarian Island | On water at 5:30pm tonight....last cast at 9:30pm... in between 10 hit the net with 7 over 40" to 47" biggest... lost 2, (1 over 40) missed 3...one boat, 2 guys, and some Hair Nation, and New Glarus beers..not sure why they went bonkers but they did.... not sure we will ever see a night like this again...but we will try.... What made them go nuts...others on the same lake (19 teams in league) didn't see a fish....we just found a pack of them I guess... what would jerry b the spoonplugger say since all the fish were shallower than 6 feet of water ... Location: Contrarian Island | in 20 years I've never experienced a night like this.. right place, right time, right baits, right speed, triggered em. May never see it again... it's one of those nights we all dream of.

Location: Hayward WI | I think the moon has something to do with it. Look at last years league nite in June, it was also on the day of the new moon and from the pictures at the awards banquet, there were alot of big fish caught that nite.

Posts: 1141 Location: NorthCentral WI | Nice job, sounds like fun. That must have been quite the point total for the night. I would guess that would put you first in your league by a long shot. Pelican lake league only had 2 fish last night despite the new moon and a big front moving into the area. Lots of teams were pushed off the water early. Edited by MartinTD 8/7/2013 9:15 AM

Posts: 13688 Location: minocqua, wi. | moon plus the big front and powerful storms that moved through wisconsin = perfect storm ... in the north unfortunately the front hit with power an hour ahead. brad, how close were the storms to where you were? being on the frontal boundary with the new moon (i assume) may have been the ticket??

Posts: 440 | That is awesome. Sometimes things just happen and being there for it to happen is a big part of the formula. Good job!

Posts: 279 Location: Central Wisconsin | I had a great night as well! I got a late start but managed to catch 5 fish in 62 mins. The first four fish were in a 44 min window, 37", 39.5", 44.5", and a 46". All my fish came from 7:12pm - 8:14pm while wading. All hand landed. Didn't see another after that. I also lost a 37"-38" between the four bigger ones. A night I likely won't ever top!

Posts: 279 Location: Central Wisconsin | Man I wish I could've gotten out there earlier. I fished from 6:45pm - 8:45pm and immediatly when I stepped in the river, I saw one porpoising. I'm assuming it just ate? I'm still jacked about it! Even though I have a case of hamburger hand. Would have been even better if it was league night! Good job Brad!

Posts: 426 Location: Perryville, MO | "Awesome!" is the first thing any fisherman should say. Followed by a "Congrats!" The spoonplugger would probably continue by saying that you intercepted a strong shallow movement. It happens from time to time and you were in the right place with the right controls (depth, speed, etc.) Then, they probably add that they do it regularly. LOL

Posts: 20219 Location: oswego, il | since others had not seen fish in the same time period, it had to be what you were doing, location, baits, even the way you were working them. I have seen it before. were you doing something way different or new?

Location: Contrarian Island | thx, yah have had a few really good windows over the years but nothing like this... as far as what we were doing different, yes, I do think we had the upper hand in the presentation from what I could tell from the 4 or 5 other musky boats right around us Edited by BNelson 8/7/2013 2:23 PM

Posts: 441 | Congrats Brad!!! I had some luck, also. I got a 51 1/2 incher and a 41 incher, and had 7 follows yesterday afternoon. There was hardly anybody out, which was very unusual!!!!

Location: Contrarian Island | I figured I'd get some flack, whatever, I said it's a night like we all dream of... even you Mr Ken. not being arrogant about it at all, it was unreal and a night we'll never duplicate... but hey be a hater if you want Ken. Maybe this forum will go to only registered users and I'm sure the mudslinging and guest posting would stop. Have a good one Ken. Edited by BNelson 8/7/2013 3:03 PM
