NEW 7' and 7'6" rods form Tackle Industries are ready to ship

http://www.tackleindustries.com/muskypikerods.html

5 new rods are ready to go!

Thank you to all of you who had input on these rods. The new 7' and 7'6" have the new titanium rod guides on them. New 8'6" rods are in production now.

James

Did you change the lure rating on your rods? I thought the XXH used to be up to 36 ounces, but now it is up to only 16 ounces. Are the blanks different or did you just reclassify the weights?

Same rod blanks but the blanks load up too much with the old classification so we adjusted them. Example: The MH can throw pounders but if you don't like the hooks near your ears it would not be suggested The XH is still OK for pounders but it loads up a lot and the optimal range is 2oz-8oz.

James, did you ever think of offering a musky spinning rod option?

Just my opinion, but I think your 7'6" mh blank would probably work well for this.

Are there any plans to offer the 8'6" in a telescopic version that collapses to something under 7'?

We have but for every spinning rod you sell you sell 15-20 casting rods. More about room in my warehouse. I may make one size next year though. Just an 8'6" XH spinning rod or something. Just have to estimate what the best power and length is at that point.
Thanks

I would think a MH or something similar. I like keeping one for throwing super flukes for finicky fish and a TI version would be awesome with a musky length handle

I know what I would like and its a 9'6 telescoping xxh. After throwing the 9'0 I think a 9'6 or even 10 would be great. That 9'6 would be a pounder casting machine with the 18" handle.

You guys are killing me I do want to make a telescopic 9'6" or even a telescopic 10'... Maybe some prototypes and just offer them here on M1? lol

I have a 10'3" XH and a 10'3" XXH (both are 2-piece rods). These things are just awesome and I can make the widest and deepest figure-8 with these suckers. Instead of offering a 10' telescopic rod, just offer a 10' 2-piece rod. With how good the 2-piece rods are nowadays, they would be just as good.

James, I bought 4 rods from you to take to NWT pike fishing, then I see the fine print in United airlines baggage policy... Rods to 7'6" are fine on United flights, but United express only accepts rod cases to 80"... As such, had to buy 2 pc rods, and the longest I could find in a decent rod is 7' St.Croix. Would love to see some 8-8.5 footers in two piece and MH/H weight.

While we're at it, I say a 7ft with the 18" handle like the 9fters

James.

You should to make 7'- 7'6''- 8' and 8'6'' 2-piece MH,XH and XXH powers : with the 9' 2-piece model already on sale, you will have a complete series ( very good even for fishing trips ).

Nice thing about the 2pc rods is that I can store them on normal pallets in my warehouse. Much easier to deal with vs the long rods. I may need to make a few 10' prototypes in 2pc and telescopic and run them against each other. What power(s) would you guys want to see the most or I should ask, what lures/weight would you want to throw with these the most?
Thanks,
James

Probably XH for me, I only carry two rods so one that I can use to throw anything from a double 8 to a mag super D would be my preferred.

I'd be happy with a 7'10" rod, just take a regular 7'6" rod and add 4 inches to the handle.

James - what a lucky guy. Come on here to let us know new products are ready and we already have ideas for more new stuff. That's gotta be pretty rough.

I'll take a prototype of the telescopic 9'6" rods. Not asking for much, just one of each in XH and XXH.

Oh, the 8'6" telescopic with 16" handle (I like the 18" handles but would vote to go to 16" on the 8'6" rods) would be great too. H and XH would be perfect!

Oh, don't forget the walleye rods. Might as well get into ice fishing rods too while you're at it!

LOL! I bet 60%+ of my ideas have came from M1 forum members. I think all of my current SuperD and MiniD colors came from members here and many of my otehr colors for other lures were custoemr requests. Rods too. Keep thsoe ideas coming!

James,

you could make a commemorative special edition rod and the proceeds of sales to give to charity (to victims of terrorism, for example) and also make a special edition rod for muskyfirst forum members only.

7'6" blanks will be ready to go in mid/late September.

Tuscarora Tackle will have a supply of them. You can cut those down to make a 7' too and you can extent the handle on those to make 8' or low 8' rods too if you like. Tuscarora tackle can do a lot on a rod build. I can also ship direct to a rod builder or sell to you if you are building one yourself.

James, another idea hit me on the way home from work. What about a 2pc for one of the longer prototypes like the new st croixs, where you have say a 6'6" piece and 3' piece. I've never been much for 2pc rods but that idea sounds pretty solid and I'm not too crazy about any telescopic. Honestly the only complaint I can come up with on TI rods is my 9ft collapses occasionally when fishing. I'm assuming the lure bouncing around during the day knocks it down over time and this would alleviate that issue while fitting almost any rod locker! Oh, and have I mentioned TI decals?

Here is the new 7' 6" rod we just came out with . Also have a 7' rod in the new lineup. Coming out with new 86 rods in about 3 weeks as well as an all new line of the new VEXAN Bass rods in about 8 weeks.

Didn't build one but a year ago I went from 4000 sq ft to 14,000 sq ft.That space is 50% full now.

Picture of me putting up the pallet racking in my large warehouse (aka the horse barn). Nice thing is, I got to buy a tractor for the new warehouse as my fork truck can't drive on a dirt floor. Makes it nice for winter to scoop snow now

James, I would like to order an 8'6" or 9' Muskie rod. I would like to get one with the new guides on it though! Do you know when they will be ready? I have an order in the cart for some lures, but would like to order a rod with it. Are the Super Cisco freshwater and the SwitchBlade spinnerbaits going to be on sale before CHRISTmas?
Thanks, Bob
