Posts: 393 Location: Hopefully on the water | I was out yesterday morning for a while on a small lake. Saw a small one on a suzy sucker, lost one on a suick and got one on a suick. The one we caught was a little one but nice to slide the net under one.

Posts: 1037 | Three follows on my first three casts on Saturday. Moved about a dozen fish in a few hours, all on the same bait. Threw everything at the book at 'em but couldn't get them to hit anything except a small ugly spinner. Then I missed two hits and got a fiesty 36 incher. Did raise one good fish, 43 inches or so. Still scarred up.

Posts: 1293 Location: WI | Cold water, no weeds, only follows. Nice to see some fish at least! Raised a 43" class fish 2 days in a row, all beat up from spawning. Followed a bucktail twice and flared away at the boat during the moon Major. Stupid muskies!

Posts: 13688 Location: minocqua, wi. | i was gone last week and came home to a house that was 57 deg. inside so must have been a crap week for water temps., graduation weekend so just got out last night for the first time (post-smallie) and found 64 deg. water on a local darkish lake with southeast winds. contacted lazy fish in shallow weeds ... today it's warming and reports of "dead-sea" coming in from friends on the water now. heading out tonight and expect this week to be the start of something good. some reports are really good but the guys they are coming from are working really hard. hoping to use the camera tonight. smallie fishing and what looks to continue with lakes further north (local smb's are on or just off) is really hard to pass up but i suppose the muskie time has to start sooner or later. tomorrow night is the first "on-the-water" meeting for Northwoods Chapter 61 of Muskies Inc. headquartering out of The Thirsty Whale so make sure to stop in if you are around to meet the club members.

Posts: 182 | Had five slow lazy follows Sat.. Small lake in Burnsville. 62 degree water. Fish were in the 30-40" range. They started reacting to 6"-10" flies. No interest on the on the bigger flies. 15-18"

Posts: 402 Location: WI | Fished for 6 plus hrs Sat and put a 39" in the net. Raised it on a Viper 1st, then it ate a Hawg Wobbler 30 min later. This was the only fish encountered & it was in the warmest water (66 degrees) we found all day.

Posts: 267 | Fished Manitowish Chain 5/28 - 6/2. Was slow early in week w / water temps 59 or so degrees and overcast NE wind. Weather warmed towards end of week and boated a scarred up 39"er in 68 degree water on 6/2 am just before another front moved in. Talked to a few others who had similar luck netting a few smaller fish in same small window. My buddies did very well with the perch and smallies on minnows all week, tho.

Posts: 173 Location: Green Bay, Titletown, WI | I caught two sunday evening. 37" and 30", both within an hour of each other. With a high 30" inch fish following a few turns in the eight, between. 37" on a buck tail, and the 30" on topwater.

Posts: 1168 | Explored new water on Wednesday, contacted four fish. Thursday caught two....fish were moving big time. Friday was a touch slower but ended up with one...stopped off at a lady's place on the lake and we exploited a Leinie's pattern. Saturday was spent chasing away a hangover with a bottle of Glenlivet and a cooler full of Schlitz....ended up with one fish.

Posts: 410 Location: one foot over the line | Chasing away a hangover with schlitz??? Seems like an exercise in futility. I can understand the glen, but, schlitz? my god man, are you a glutton for punishment? Just grinding on ya, kind of, but not really. Anyway, thanks for all the reports. I head up north today for a 6 day trip and you guys got my blood pumping. If all else fails, maybe i'll find a saloon that still serves Old Style Classic Draft Light, or some other poop-tasting beer......... like schlitz.

Posts: 2515 Location: Waukesha & Land O Lakes, WI | First open water trip up in Land o Lakes. We pan fished and walleye fished Saturday and Sunday, excellent Perch class this year, Crappies too, and the gills are getting huge. I have no idea where the eyes are. I hit all my spots for both opener and mid season patterns and got skunked. Which is odd because going through 4 dozen fat heads and 6 dozen crawlers in two days, you'd have thought a stray eye would pop up. I fished Musky yesterday morning for about an hour. Popped a sub followed by a 36-37"er not even 5 minutes after. Both fish came about 7am and both on 6" Sandcats in 6-7 fow. Water temps varied between 64 for a high and 61.5 for a low.

You haven't had the "new" (old formula) Schlitz have you? It actually tastes like real beer. Not this watered down junk that is so popular.

You've angered the musky gods for trashing the "new" recipe schlitz. It really is great stuff. Puts any Miller, Bud, Busch crap to shame. It's on par with a PBR.

Posts: 410 Location: one foot over the line | That's the one i tried, more than once, and i can drink just about anything, (i prefer IPA's) buttttttt, I can't stand that stuff. Now, if we continue with Wisconsin beers that have been brought back to life, a nice cold bottle of Potosi or even a Fountain Brew, I could understand.

I've found the IPA fad to have become pretty annoying. All this ultra hop jibberish. Certainly there are some good beers being produced, but at this point it's gotten old. But, beer is beer and I will drink most kinds.

Hey Goose, I think that was me you talked to at the Lower Unit (I'm the guy that roostertailed my buddies in the lund lol). Tough fishing due to the storms everyday. Cut our water time down quite a bit. Finally got on them Friday and Saturday (raised a TANK after leaving the lower unit), then got wacked with a major cold front. Didn't fish Saturday night or Sunday. Booooooo.

Posts: 456 Location: Kansas City BBQ Capitol of the world | I havn't had a Schlitz since 1978 but if the Muskie Gods are on board with it I guess I have to buy in. 36 hours and 1 follow. OUCH! Maybe a Schlitz can change my luck. Ron
