Hey guys, whats your favorite twitchbaits? I kinda like twitching the shallow raiders and the shallow invaders myself! Does anyone have a preferance in river current?

Big Games are my favorite. My buddy Dan down in WV does well with them on the Potomac.

Big Game twitchbaits (try ripping the 12" sometime - that can really work too!) and Slammers are both quality baits with nice actions. If I'm twitching a minnow bait it will usually be one of those two, though I should use Jakes more than I do.

Shallow invaders, big games, and slammers. I like shallow invaders the best because the action of the tail and they have a slower rise.

Cranes can't be beat. Some Shallow Raiders look great, haven't had any success yet. Going to try Shallow Invaders this year. Saw them in the tank at Milwaukee and picked up a couple.

On what types of spots do you guys typically twitch? Over weeds or mostly off of rocks?

honestly I think they can be used in both quite well. its probably one of the more natural presentations you can throw at a fish i'd have to say. i move fish on them all the time over weeds, dont fish a lot of rock. Give them a try anywhere. What i really like about them for weeds is they are pretty buoyant so you can bounce them through and over the top of cabbage and stuff without snagging up on weeds every cast.

I've had my best luck twitching with big games, fish seem to really like them... they only last so long though if you are fishing in rivers around rocks. I have a couple hanging in garage with busted lips. I've also got fish on Cranes, and big fork twitch darter is another good one with a little different action. Recently picked up a custom x cast/troll and really like the action on it, I'm sure it will catch and hopefully more durable than big game.

I have a couple shallow invaders also that I used to throw a lot, but couldn't seem to catch a dang thing on them... I'm sure its just me b/c everyone else seems to love them.

I believe he means Little Claw! I agree the Little Claw is an awesome little twitch bait, and my go to when early in the season on certain waters.

For twitching shallow water early in the year, I'm usually throwing a slammer or crane. Both are pretty bouyant, so they pop back up pretty quick over shallow weeds, logs, rocks, etc. If I'm looking for more hang time, I'll use a shallow raider, husky jerk, or a bomber long A (super underrated early season bait).

Seems like a lot of the minnow bait favorites are made by locals (although cranes aren't local to me).

I may have to check those little claws out. Cool looking bait.

Another vote for Slammers. Bill Schwartz has been making them for years and has made his bait a standard in the industry. Large range of sizes and great paint patterns. Hard plastic with epoxy coating makes the baits extremely durable and consistent. Add his Fishtales to the back treble and the bait really comes alive. Definitely need some in the box every trip to the lake.

I like 206s, 207s, and 208s and also 305s and 306s. All are great producers. These baits don't take a lot of abuse but are reasonably priced and have a very unique action including the rise (boyoant).

the little claws are very nice but check out the catz claw also. it's a smaller 5" version and it's a killer. fishall-lures.com
