Wanted to see if anyone had as guess to how big this fish is. It was only my 5th musky and she gave me a lot of trouble in the net, so by the time I snipped the hooks I was more concerned about getting her back safely than getting a measure. It's a Jersey fish.

I could be way off but to me it looks like it is pushing 50" maybe 49ish...". Beautiful fish, nice girth on her too. Congrats man.

it is not to far away from his body, and you can tell by how small his fingers look that the fish has some good size to her. I don't know exactly, but id say 50+

It slightly depends on how big of a guy you are but I would guess around 45-47 inches

I looked at the pic before seeing the other guesses and 45 was the first number that popped in my head. Regardless of exact measurement it is a beauty.

I'm 6'1" tall, 210 lbs. and can easily palm a basketball. I was by myself, so the photo was taken by propping my camera on my cooler on the front of the boat and setting the time. The photo was taken about 10 feet away, but I cropped it.

Thanks for the feedback and the congrats everyone.

Based on NJ fish, I am going with a 50.25 inches. That is a quick growing young NJ fish:) BR

Big enough to make me green with envy, proud of you for thinking of her survival over measurement! Believe me you will be rewarded for your concern, more big fish sure to come your way. You and people like you are what will preserve our sport!

upper 40's. measure you hand width and estimate with how many widths of your hand fit it is long. if you hand is 6 inches across at your knuckles looks to be somewhere around 48ish.

Split the fish in half, you easily have 2 feet both ways. I'd say a solid 49 incher. Nice catch man.

Measure the width of your left hand so that width is W.

Count how many hand widths you get for the length of the fish and call that L.

Solve for X where X=L * W.

Then solve for Y where Y=50-X.

Then solve for Z where Z=Y+X and that will be the length of your fish....congratulations!

Compare it to the width of the boat ur in it looks like it would be close to the same length.
