| I used to have hundreds, now I keep it around 50-75, typically only use about 5-10 of them though. BR | |||

Location: sneaking out to get on the water ;-) | I have around ten bait styles that I use the most but tons of color combos and slight variations of them.

Location: Eau Claire,WI | Lets see, been bit over 20 years ago,got the "magic" bait syndrome soon there after and have never been the same . I have thousands. I just put away a large conatiner of lures I haven't touched in over 15 years, some never used, some used once, some caught 20+ fish but just lost interest in em,found something better! I have 3,4 and even 6 or 12 of the same lure and color baits, just in case I loose or break one or 3 of them! Add that to about 20 different lures and it don't take long to get a 500 lures. I do collect certain lures from the mid to late 80's.... I also have 20+poles, a box full of reels some work, some don't. I have tried to sell some here but that didn't go as well as I had hoped... So my total is close to well, almost enough but still looking for that " magic" lure that will get me 1 over 50,then I gotta find another and another...Keep on getting lures, it is fun to look at a basement full of em and say you don't have the right one and not enough of em! Sorry about the book,oh,I got a shelf full of those too! LOL

Posts: 210 | 18 that always get a boat ride, 823 more in current rotation, another several hundred that never take a boat ride anymore. My current rate of purchasing is much less than it was 15 years ago!

Posts: 28 Location: Rockwell City, IA | Not near as many as most guys on here. Couple hundred. Been selling some on the buy/sell board. I sell some, then find something else I "need", pretty much spinnin' my wheels. Cam

Posts: 150 Location: Central Minnesota | Right around 100 and growing. So much fun to buy lures. I think a lot of lures catch more fisherman than fish but its a better addiction than crack or meth. Right now I'm more concerned with getting quality rod and reel combos.

| How wealthy are you? If you have unlimited financial resources, and you want to, buy as many as you like. But you may feel like a fool later. If you aren't that wealthy, stop and consider whether you need more than you have. If you can't call yourself a rich dude, you might consider these points of direction: 1. Don't buy anything that isn't a proven taker of fish; 2. Don't buy the same bait in more than three different colors; 3. Don't buy any lure that you won't use regularly, you probably don't need it; 4. Don't buy anything (for recreational use) until you're sure all your financial responsibilities and future necessities are covered. | |||

Posts: 556 | I am like alot of you guys---Approx 125 baits---but I limit it down when I load up for a trip---depending on the time of year and lakes or area we are fishing I usually take about 30 with me----even that is more than enough as I most likely will only use maybe 12 - 15 of them per trip.
