I'll announce this info at the next Just Ranger Musky Club of North America. We may vote to attend; if it works out, then we'll just need to make travel arrangements for all the member.

Steve,

Thanks for your promo.....it'll be fun listening to what you have to say. I never leave without taking something "extra" to add to my arsenal. Hopefully we end up with a LARGE crowd! I was surprised with the number that made it last year, with a 10" snowfall the night before and the day of.

Merry Christmas,
Donnie [] []

Steve...thanks for agreeing to be one of the instructors for the muskie school. We enjoyed your class on bucktails last year. Look forward to seeing you on 3/1/03. Steve R.

I am not sure of all of the "big sticks" that will be helping put on the show but I think Mr. Don Hunt is signed up as well as Scott Jenkins and of course Mr. Worrall!

Should be very informative!

We think this will be an excellent, extremely high-quality program. The faculty includes Steve Worrall,Don Hunt,John Eversoll,Kevin Wegner,Lee Tauchen,Craig Eversoll,Bill Wood, Gerard "Muskienut" Hellenbrand,Scott Jenkins, Dennis Lytle,Scot Stewart(WDNR),Ron Schell,a Garmin GPS expert and a Magellan GPS expert. These instructors are highly effective anglers and were invited because they are also excellent communicators. There will be 21 sessions offered so you'll have lots of choices. We will have poolside demonstrations allowing students to actually see how lures behave in the water, hands-on workshops making crankbaits, bucktails, in-line spinners, leaders and "field-strip" and maintain your reel and rod. Fishing the Madison Chain,Marine electronics, learn from the latest stat's analyzing/interpreting a wealth of data (hour of the day fish were caught, lure type, water temp, cloud conditions, moon phase, month, etc.),using WWW and internet to enhance your muskie fishing, etc. The facility is first-class,a hot lunch included in the fee, coffee & donuts will be provided. All this for only $24 per person ($30 if received after 2/15/03). We are getting a good steady flow of new registrants, however there is room for more. If interested, please get your classes picked out soon (see information in the first message above)and send it in along with the fee. You'll be glad you did!

Sounds like a good deal. I would do it but I may have open water to fish by then. If not, I will see if I can get in last minute or get there before mr. sluggo and pretend to be him!

This is stacking up to be a doozie of a school. There are about 10 openings now and what a faculty and program this year! The faculty includes Craig Eversoll, Don Hunt, Scot Jenkins, Kevin Wegner, Steve Worrall, Jim Olson (who is quite the accomplished row troller), John Eversoll (crankbait "artist") Brad Walker a custom rod builder, a Garmin and Magellan GPS expert, Scot Stewart (DNR fisheries biologist/bucktail maker & Muskie behavior expert, Lee Tauchen - Madison area guide, Jerry Georgeson - Sucker/quick-set expert, Denny Lytle-expert at making in-line spinners, Gerard Hellenbrand - the best leader-maker anywhere, a panel of five local Muskie experts who have logged many, many hours and know a tremendous amount about fishing the Madsion chain in highly effective and creative ways. The program includes a lot of hands-on sessions in the pool as well workshops - to get your hands dirty making leaders and baits. Coffee/donuts and lunch is provided and includes a sandwich, chips, vegetables and even (Bill Wood's favorite): Dutch Apple pie topped off with ice cream! Doesn't get any better than that!

This is gonna be cool!

Hope you can join us!!

This Muskie School should be an excellent time. I can't believe the line up that the Capital City chapter has put together. If you are into muskie fishing - especially in the Metro area (Madison/Milwaukee), then you should call and sign up.

I am scheduled for the following:

9:00am - Madison Chain Muskie Tactics. Time to spill the beans folks. Those who plan on attending are going to get baits, locations, techniques and tips for Spring/Summer/Fall fishing on the Madison Chain. I started fishing the Madison Chain when I was 4 years old. That makes this coming season my 32nd year!

10:45am - Poolside Demo - I will be teamed up with one Steve Worrall to discuss techniques of our favorite Jerkbaits and Surface Baits. Any one interested in special 1/1 training - this is it. Any one interested in learning how to quick hop a Squirko - this is it! Any one interestd in talking about boatside maneuvers to convert lookers into hookers, this is it!!!

1:00pm - Panel Discussion - Got questions? This is the time to ask!!

I am so excited about the chance to help those who attend this event. I hope to see some of you there. If you attend, please make a point to touch base with me so we can chat.

Isn't the PMTT on the Madison Chain on 9/13 and 14? Man, what better place to obtain some of the best info!

Even if you are not into the PMTT, the Madison Chain is an excellent place to fish. The lakes are so big that no matter how bad the boating pressure can be, you can still fish - on ANY given weekend!!

Here's the sign up info again:

Questions? Contact Bill Wood 608-849-7659, or Geoff Crandall

Hope to see you there!

One of my pet peeves is boatside maneuvers. There are many good anglers out there but what sets successful muskie fisherman apart is boatside maneuvers. The ultimate pressure is fishing in the Professional Musky Tournament Trail Invitational and having a 45" fish hot on the prowl at the side of the boat. This fish put some money in our pocket. Reason??? All the years of practice I spent honing my skills at boatside maneuvers. After three full figure eights, this fish fell to what I call the "BONE" tactic. Learn more about it next weekend at the Madison Muskie School!

Pictures like this will get you thinking about what to look for when muskie fishing. It looks relatively innocent. What you can't see is that on the rock in the middle is hundreds of sea lions. Under the rough water, a pod of killer whales waiting patiently to pluck a helpless sea lion from the depths.

Sound familiar???

We'll be discussing more on March 1st!!!!

OK. I am feeling good tonight. Here's the scoop. I will have raffle tickets at my talk at 9am - Madison Chain Muskie Tactics.

Capital City Chapter doesn't know about this so I hope it is OK. It's my time so I wouldn't think it would be problem.

Everyone who attends my talk at 9am will receive a raffle ticket. AFTER my talk, I will draw a ticket from the hat. Ticket holder gets a free half day on the Madison Chain with me.

I am only posting this on muskies101 and muskiefirst. Those lucky SOB's who have already signed up are in!

Sign up now!!!
