Since it's Jingle Bell time, I thought I would put this thread out there in case our spouses or significant others happen to search the web for Musky related gift ideas. And maybe get some ideas for our hard to shop for Musky fishing buddies. So what do you want for Christmas this year? Not a Ranger 620 with a 250 Evinrude...that's too obvious. What would you want that's in the $50 to $100 price range?

Last year, I think, it was a 9" Grandma. Yet to see the water. This year... For $50 or $100, I don't know. But how about a 22-25 with degree from a respectable university, the physique of a bathing suit model, the kindness of a kindergarten teacher, and an intense desire to please the man. Ahh, love...

Posts: 4053 Location: Land of the Musky | An old musky mount. Seen a few on eBay but they are hard to come by. Be a cool "mans room" addition. Go to the Basement forum and buy a few really nice hand made lures. Great for lure collections. Edited by Tackle Industries 11/26/2012 12:27 PM

Posts: 1220 | I don't see any reason not to ask for the 620 at all, except that I would put the Verado 250 Pro on it instead. The last thing you want the "little woman" (or "little man" if that applies) is placed into a position where they think that they are truly getting you all you wish for. What you want is to MAXIMIZE guilt. Let them know that you really, really, need that boat in order to know that all your dreams have come true. That 620 in my garage is proof for all the world to see that I have the bestest, most generous, most caring and truly beautiful wife in the whole wide world. Her sacrifice of all sorts of jewelry (she really didn't need anyway) just so I could hit the water with the highest level of style and function is proof to the entire world of how much she loves me, and how much my fishing means to her. Not having that boat would really strip her of all the respect and admiration she gets everytime I drive it. I guess in that particular way...I really have the Ranger FOR HER!

Posts: 410 Location: Wakefield, MI | I got my dad a gift certificate for St. Croix last year, ended up costing quite a bit more than I gave him though when we both went there check books in hand. Did some damage that day.... A guided trip does sound interesting though. Might have to think about that.

Posts: 2044 | We spend lots of money on stuff as muskie angler and you will spend a lot of hrs chasing these fish with minutes of memories in between the hrs of "the hunt", to me if you don't have a GoPro (or other small wearable video camera) to help capture those "moments" you should. Near misses on topwater, fish chasing in the figure 8, throwing your rod in the lake with frozen hands-lol. I waited way to long to get one! I'd ask for a $100 gift card and take another $100 out of your own pocket and get a GoPro hero3 - to me its the best $200 you can spend for muskies, if you have the essentials covered. And I'll get you that trip you're dreaming about if you get me something comparable and NO it cannot be same said trip to AML! I know how you think, buddy.

Not overly ambitious on wanting a boat or half of the Musky Shop. I just want a wolly pog frog. But then again a new lakewood would be good, a bigger just encase, along with a couple new rods for surface and jerk baits, and a boat would indeed be nice. But a frog for sure. Definitely a frog.

Keep dreamin' lady. Your vacation money is all tied up in a bunch of trees about 30 miles North of Minocqua, along with any purses, shoes, jewelry and other stuff you might have wanted. I can swing a lure or two, but that's about it! ![]()

Posts: 120 | The past couple years my wifey has put a couple of tuscarora tackle minnow plugs in my stocking--very nice! Also couldn't go wrong with a h2o hardead or two, and I really like the wolly pog idea--that would make a great stocking stuffer!

Posts: 1360 Location: Lake "y" cause lake"x" got over fished | I also am asking for a new GoPro. That's what I want more than anything, and not just for musky fishing. It would have been pretty cool to have one on the opener of deer season this year. Saw some crazy weird deer activity, wishin I had a camera

Well if that's the case then I'll settle for those trees and frontage then.

Oooo a hardhead, brilliant idea. But no pink rod. I'll beat him up if he gets me anything pink. I have an unlucky pink shirt that has been relegated to the closet. That's enough.

Posts: 13688 Location: minocqua, wi. | we've always focused our holiday shopping on building the fleet of outdoor vehicles and products. now there is a significant other involved in my life. last year she ... err, we got a H-Bird 1157/998 and 175 pro-xs upgrade for the boat, down-riggers, trolling rods and line-counters so that we can enjoy salmon trolling. we give smoked salmon/wild-rice/walleye fillets/venison sausage as gifts to our family and friends during the holidays. enjoying and sharing the outdoors and it's spoils has been our Holiday tradition. Christmas is all about adding to the arsenal of equipment to enjoy the great outdoors and over the years it's paid off in spades!! this year our "team" present is a new ice-shack ...

Huh. Well I've only ever had luck with my sky blue and my sea foam green shirts. Soo I'm a little superstitious. I'm sure it isn't pink in general, just pink with me!
