Posts: 136 Location: Dane Country | Here is all that has been done. 19 gal. alum fuel Tank, new adjustable pedestals, new style Tuffy seats, new stringers, new floors, deck and carpet. Buffed original paint and decals. I have a Minn-Kota 101 with a 60" shaft I am still debating on installing. This winter I will build a fuse box and rewire the entire boat. We ran the fuel tank long ways on the passenger side. When I am by myself the boat is nice and level. Plus 19 gals works well. Thank you Steve for posting my pictures. Sorry about the drive way one (took that one for work)

Posts: 682 Location: Sycamore, IL | Looks great...did you get those seats from the factory? How much did they cost you? That would be an awesome upgrade on my old Tuffy! Nice work! Matt

Posts: 136 Location: Dane Country | The guys at the factory really took care of me. They were take offs and are not perfect. I don't know if it has rocks or a busted bolt or nut. There was a rattle in them, I haven't heard anything since mounting them. I would just call the factory and ask if they have any take off parts.

Posts: 5874 | Love that color combination! Brings back great memories of my first Tuffy. Nice work. I wonder who complained about a rattle in the seats? Mine did that on my 1890. I figured it was just the little pieces that get punched out for the swivel mount, and never gave it a second thought.

Posts: 136 Location: Dane Country | It is my first Tuffy. I was a Ranger guy before. Like I said you could hear the rattle before I mounted them. I put them on the pedestals and have not heard one sound. I am really happy with the way it turned out. Mounting the tank and hoses were a little challenging at first. I paid $1800 for it last fall. The motor was then just serviced for the winter, tuned up and brand new power trim installed. I really enjoy the ride. I need to mount my trolling motor and batteries this winter. I cannot do a hole shot, the boat will stand straight up. LOL Other than that I really enjoy fishing from it. It's a nice poor man's boat.

Posts: 136 Location: Dane Country | I would like to thank everyone for there help. This site has given me many ideas to fixing this boat up. Steve thank you for all of your help and posting my pictures for me. The folks at the factory are amazing people to work with. Cannot say enough about the Tuffy brand. Twenty five year boat and still going. I hope to get many more years out of it. Thanks to All.

Posts: 32904 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Scooter, Cool seeing the old Tuffy models being refurbed. This one is my son Keith's 1985 Tuffy Pike Rampage. Trailer paint restore is next, then finish rigging. This was my personal sales sample in 1985 (I was Tuffy Boats Sales manger for the Midwest then, good chance I sold your boat to the dealer after it left Glasway), and the first boat Keith went fishing in; he was 5 years old then. Cool he found it for sale by the gent I originally sold it to in 1986; it's Keith's now and my grandsons are fishing in her! Apparently kap thinks I am stealing your thunder and missed the fact we were talking about this earlier in this thread; not at all, I thought you might get a kick out of seeing another restoration of about the same age. Glad we were able to help you with the parts and seats, she's looking good! Let me know if you need anything else...like a Tuffy jacket perhaps? Hole shot? Are you having issues getting on plane? Posts: 136 Location: Dane Country | Wow, I need to do a lot more work to mine. That boat is in showroom condition. Steve I love seeing anything old being restored to their former glory. That console looks mint. In no way would I think anything like stealing someone's thunder. I love it. It inspires me to do even more to mine. I need to get a windshield, and the front spot light is cool. I still have those plastic seat mounts on my decks. I am going to change those out because I can't find post. What is the black box in the front deck (dead center) off the floor? Looks cool. I will also be placing my 3 batteries under the front deck for my Minn Kota 101 since no one wanted it. I might be able to pull a good hole shot with my trolling motor. IF I HIT FULL THROTTLE, from a dead start the bow will lift straight in the air without moving forward. If I throttle slowly, get moving and then hit it, awesome ride. All I can say is that Pike Rampage is one of the nicest boats I've ever seen. I wish more guys would redo the old stuff. This was the first boat I have ever really worked on. All my other boats was just fish them and service. This being my very first Tuffy, I don't know why but I just felt that I had to redo this boat. My old Ranger is still around and looks the same as when I sold it. If the new Tuffy boats are so much better than this .... I am a Tuffy man for life. Don't need a jacket, but will be in contact for a hooded sweatshirt. Edited by Scooter70 9/8/2012 7:55 PM

Posts: 32904 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | The black lid on the front deck panel is a built in tackle box. Works great, but is from the sale time as the boat. I'm sure there are still boxes like that out there.

Posts: 136 Location: Dane Country | I have the splash well coated with gelcoat. I like the idea of bed liner. Extra protection never hurts. I bought the boat in Madison last September. It was in worse shape than i was told. But i think it was worth it. I don't have 6k in it. It is a 75hp. Mariner. when i bought it the old owner put on a new power trim. He said he bought it from an estate sale. This winter I will rewire and add the massive trolling motor.

Posts: 136 Location: Dane Country | I'll double check when I am out this weekend. Remember I added a 19 gal fuel tank. I really have no weight on the front of the boat. I do know I have a stainless prop but no nothing about it. I'm still learning but with all I read on here each project gets a little easier.

Posts: 121 Location: Plymouth IA | Scooter I have a 90hp on my 85 muskie Rampage. It took me a while to figure out the last part of the tilt down goes real slow, and the one tolling motor battery up front did help. If i punch it she gets going like were shot out of a cannon and have to trim up a little to get the steering to stop pulling. One thing i have learned is if the steering takes more than a finger I have the trim wrong. Love your boat it looks real cool. Edited by misterperch 9/12/2012 10:28 PM
