Posts: 326 Location: Plainfield IL | Mission Complete! My family got our dad the replica of the 54 for xmas. Joe Fittante did an excellent job. My dad officially named her Lady Gaga Thank you Joe Fittante, Spencer, friends and family for making this a great gift. My brothers and I wanted to give our dad a special fishing trip for his 70th birthday. This trip was going to be all about DAD! Our requirements were to provide our dad with the greatest potential for a fish of a lifetime and that fish being caught casting. We booked Spencer Berman for a 2 day trip on Lake St. Clair. Spencer's job was to best our dad's 44 from a few years ago. 15 minutes into day 1, Dad rears back and sets the hooks into a nice 48. Mission accomplished! A few hours later Dad sets his hooks into a 53!! On day 2 Dad decides he wants to go bigger and lands a 54! Total fish caught for 2 days: 54, 53, 50, 48, 45, 45, 43, 42, 42, 41.5, 40, 40, 38. All fish were caught CASTING Pounders, Double Dawgs, and Medussas! Thank you Spencer Berman & Lake St Clair for the memories. Posts: 93 | I have been fishing muskies for over 35 years, and with a lot of good guides. what differentiates Spencer, is his ability to know where the fish are all the time, and what they're biting on. I don't think we went more than 2-3 hours without putting a fish in the boat. Yes, there are guides who can put 20 or so fish in the boat a day trolling, but what about the casters? We didn't see another boat casting over my 4 day trip, and I don't think it would have mattered if there were. So many fish!

muskyfevermn - 8/3/2012 2:49 PM The only reason to downplay this dude, whom i dont know, is jealousy. What an ugly trait to have. "We catch fish too " blubbering weak and downright comical. Grow a pair! Good work to Spencer on the fish. Not to mention doing such a good job that his clients promote his business. Lots of guys doing well out there.. No need to call people jelous for pointing it out.. $600 a day in the fall.. WOW I'm jelous of his paycheck not his fish.

Posts: 619 | Overall, i think your seeing a true legend emerging and in the making and the future of fishing arising here in Spencer - hall of fame some day? maybe ...someone that just seems to be at a whole new level and maybe a true natural...basically one of those top performers and a true "one percenter" - different than the other 99%. Kind of when like AP Adrian Peterson first came to the Vikings - you could just tell there was a skill level that was not very common - a man among boys if you willl. Even on a bad day AP still finds the end zone. I think its fun to watch Spencer Berman redefine catching big fish consistently and regularly. Unlike anyone I have seen and fun to follow his success. Posts: 360 Location: Algonac, MI | I'm jealous....darn right I am. Not of Spencer specifically.....but of everyone who is fishing, during the week on LSC. Meanwhile, I am at work and going to kids sports after work, wishing I was fishing. Grrrrr. Limited to select week days (vacation), and some weekends. But still able to sneak out and fish enough to get the fix. Maybe even catch a nice one, now and then. LOL Edited by Contender 8/3/2012 9:03 PM

Running_Hot - Where did you guys stay when you went out? I tried contacting Spencer for a trip this fall but he's booked till after Thanksgiving. I asked him for lodging/marina recommendations, but haven't heard back. I may drive up and just wing it for a long weekend, but I've never fished St. Clair, so not sure where to launch out of and where is a good place to stay. Any recommendations?

Location: SE Wisconsin | Spencer can cut a knife with hot butter! No matter how fast you run, Spencer can always walk faster Spencer is on top of his game for certain. I think he's done an outstanding job consistently putting folks on fish and doing his job as well as anyone out there. Edited by Sam Ubl 8/6/2012 1:19 PM

Posts: 326 Location: Plainfield IL | Jason- We stayed on the US side in St Clair Shores at the Hampton Inn Roseville. I believe the exit was 233 off 94. We launched out of 9mile, exit 229. The best part of 9mile is the parking lot has an attendant, and if you are on the lake, and you see Detroit, look North. 9Mile has a huge apt building that you cannot miss if you get lost on the lake. These are some of the places Spencer mentioned to us to stay: Holiday Inn Express - #586-285-5800 Baymont Inn - #586-296-6910 Red Roof Inn - #586-296-0310 Extended Stay America - #586-294-0141 Hampton Inn Roseville 22680 Gratiot Ave.
