Here it is, gents. You get both handles with this reel. The slower speed retrieve reel will be available in a lefty according to the folks in the booth.

Nice. So there are two different gear options? What are they? I like the power handle... no need to upgrade. Look closely and you can see there are two mounting options, much like the 700te handle.

so wait now im confused? That same guy said in a video on youtube that they're only producing 50s and 60s until demand is high enough for left hand models but in this video (thanks for that by the way, Steve) he said they're available in left handed versions as well? Unless hes referring to the delayed production of them and he means sometime in the future...do you know what he meant Steve?

I'll be getting a 5.4 and a 6.4. After the way my new 60hs has performed so far this year I'm pretty much sold. Might have to give the calcutta D a try, too. Will probably pick up tranx over the winter as well. Pretty exciting to have so many great new reels coming out.

Does anyone know if the handles will be compatible with the older revos and will they be available for purchase separately?

Drive shaft size is the same so they will work on all existing Au reels size 6 and smaller. I don't think they will be available as a carded extra to buy but should be available to order through their parts Dept.

I've played with these handles and they are night and day difference in regards to comfort over rubber paddled handles.

What's the difference between these and the old Toros? They modernized the handles and the colors, and they are making the 5.4:1 again, but what has changed internally to make them better? Are they smoother and/or more powerful than the old Revos?

Does anyone know if this is made to compete with reels like the Tranx/Trinidad where you're able to crank in hard pulling baits with the high gear option, or are they more like the existing Revo Toros where cranking in a harder pulling bait with the high gear is difficult?

Thanks.

I was about to ask the same question. What makes them better?

I don't know if they need to be any better my (2) Toro 5.4's and my 6.4 HS are still all very functional after 3.5 years of pounding.... Glad to see the 5.4 back.

I would hope something was upgraded to support an increase in price. Maybe it's because these new ones are saltwater reels?
