I want to thank them for their arrogance. Now that it has made the press, Archie will have many more visitors coming to "their" little lake to fish. I look forward to sitting in front of the council persons dock catching her fish on her private lake.

I am speechless....I may have to make a pilgrimage, with my boat, to a small 99 acre lake (that I've recently heard about) full of bass and bring with me a pallet of Dr. Pepper!!!!!!!

Any idea where you're able to donate/contribute $$$? This is something that I would feel very good about giving some money towards. Please let myself and others know if there's an online fund.

Thanks for sharing, Jake

We have a similar problem at a small lake in Ontario 5 min from my house. Trying to restrIct or deny access. Some wealthy landowners like to think they own the water too. This kind of stuff drives me crazy. Pure greed.

What a bunch of B.S.. they should just leave the old man alone. I can't believe catch and releasing the sunnies is a valid argument to try and shut the launch down.

I think I have tracked down Mary Leizinger, who is mentioned in the article. I'll see if there's a way to contribute to Archie's permit fee and let you guys know.

So basically, the boats that the property owner's run on the lake DON'T erode the shoreline at all, and the general public is releasing too many of their fish. I could see how that would pass as logic in Minnesota.

The family is grateful for the moral support. For those wishing to make donations, they can cen sent to Archie's guardian and conservator, Sue Leizinger, 16010 Excelsior Blvd, Minnetonka, MN 55345-5408 Bless you all, Mary Leizinger

I don't agree, I am not sure we have ever been more free. The Patriot Act is scary, but the court upheld the 2nd not too long ago for example. Gun ownership is at an all time high. What are you not able to do now that you could do 10 years ago? H

I'd like to either see them get the permit and back to business as usual or if that doesn't go through, put in a public access and let that backfire in the lakeshore owners faces!

Homer this thread isn't about the politics in this country, it's about a ridiculous closing of a landing by some property owners. Leave it at that.

Few things annoy me more than entitled property owners who think that they are "Lake Owners".

I did not bring up politics, just responded, so perhaps you should mind you own, the meddling type of behavior is what the poor ramp owner is dealing with. Why bring the same type of attitude here? H

When were you stopped on a public launch during posted hours? I have had issues with closed launches that are private, but I respect an American's right to own land. You could say fishing is over regulated, how many new rules and size limits do we have? H

Typical your special interest groups "regulations" make sense and every other group is infringing on your rights with their special "regulations" classic. LOL. H

regulations and access denial are two totally different conversations. Back on topic, I can't help but feel bad for Archie who has temporarily lost such a sacred thing because of the over-reaching attitude of a few. My guess/hope is that this will come to a quick conclusion and with some help from all of us who truely care about these kind of issues, the correct outcome will be reached.
