Posts: 132 Location: MN | I want to thank them for their arrogance. Now that it has made the press, Archie will have many more visitors coming to "their" little lake to fish. I look forward to sitting in front of the council persons dock catching her fish on her private lake.

Posts: 410 Location: one foot over the line | I am speechless....I may have to make a pilgrimage, with my boat, to a small 99 acre lake (that I've recently heard about) full of bass and bring with me a pallet of Dr. Pepper!!!!!!!

Posts: 1023 | We have a similar problem at a small lake in Ontario 5 min from my house. Trying to restrIct or deny access. Some wealthy landowners like to think they own the water too. This kind of stuff drives me crazy. Pure greed. Landry

Posts: 646 Location: In a shack in the woods | What a bunch of B.S.. they should just leave the old man alone. I can't believe catch and releasing the sunnies is a valid argument to try and shut the launch down.

Posts: 639 Location: Hudson, WI | So basically, the boats that the property owner's run on the lake DON'T erode the shoreline at all, and the general public is releasing too many of their fish. I could see how that would pass as logic in Minnesota.

Homer this thread isn't about the politics in this country, it's about a ridiculous closing of a landing by some property owners. Leave it at that.

I did not bring up politics, just responded, so perhaps you should mind you own, the meddling type of behavior is what the poor ramp owner is dealing with. Why bring the same type of attitude here? I have had issues with closed launches that are private, but I respect an American's right to own land. You could say fishing is over regulated, how many new rules and size limits do we have? Posts: 410 Location: one foot over the line | regulations and access denial are two totally different conversations. Back on topic, I can't help but feel bad for Archie who has temporarily lost such a sacred thing because of the over-reaching attitude of a few. My guess/hope is that this will come to a quick conclusion and with some help from all of us who truely care about these kind of issues, the correct outcome will be reached.
