Pike Master- could you give us a little reel 101 and explain the best application for this reel both 7:1 and 6:1? I always enjoy when you share your knowledge. Also could you explain the "inshore" tag....and how a revo inshore would be different than a toro? Thanks!

The 6.:1 and the 7.1:1 in this size of reel is good for Fast Line Lickup from Topwater baits or Small Jerk baits. Small Bucktails like mepps and small spinner baits will work with the 6 and 7 gears in this reel also.

this reel retails for 199.99 and it will be available in 4;9:1 5:3:1 , 6:3:1 and 7:1:1 before the end of the summer . the crazy crank gears in this reel will make the toro look like the steaming pile that it is . this reel is the real deal people and when all the speeds hit the american market the price alone will cut into to plastic abu junk big time .

Josh: Daiwa has not had to good of track record on reels under $200.00 so I would wait and see ?????
If the Lexa does not have a backup Anti-Reverse Pawl then this reel will be just like a Luna.

Yes they are but you have to keep your thumb on the spool when ripping and on hook sets or you blow out the A/R Bearing.

And as long as you keep your hand on the paddle its a non issue if it fails. Just annoying.

I wouldnt touch a Daiwa product under $350+. Theyre track record is absolute garbage. I'll stick to my tried and true Abu's.

I love my Diawa Lunas. 5 years of use and smooth as silk. I do take care of them, use them for the correct application and have them serviced occasionally. I also love my Calcutta's!

I really love to hear about the different manufactures designing new musky reels which will benefit all of us. The more competition the better the game!

There's a quite significant weight difference between the Lexa Inshore 7.1:1 (11.3oz) and the Lexa Baitcaster 7.1:1 (10.5oz)

Does anyone know why?

The Inshore has a Power Handle and the Baitcaster has a 2 Paddle Handle.

The Power Handle has a counter weight and the a big rubber knob, that makes up the .08 of a oz I'm sure. Have to wait till ICAST to find out for sure.

ABU of Japan has a Toro Big Shooter, it has red trim and a double paddle handle and a Salty, has blue trim and comes with a power handle both have 7.1:1 gears and are for jigging. I just saw the new Revo reels for Bass and ABU has redone all of the Bass Revo reels, can't wait to see what they do to the Revo Toro reels. ICAST is JULY 11 can't wait.

I hope they do, the reason why is when a reel co. makes a left hand reel they sell so few of them that they have to raise the prices of the right hand reels to cover the cost of retooling for the left hand reels.
