your mouth starts watering when you are tying a knot in your fishing line in anticipation of wetting the line.

...you schedule your entire summer and fall around it. Including where you work in the summer and at what times.

Or when your girlfriend may be given the moonrise/set times for the day/weekend knowing not to call then...

***One sign that I've spent too much time teaching kids recently and NOT enough time on the water - in the title, the incorrect to (to/too/two) is used***

The list could go on and on and on and on...

more for muskie specifically, but when you reel in your roadrunner crappie fishing and find yourself figure eighting it on your ultralight.

Thats exactly what I was thinking!
Ok, so you have the hot bait, you have to buy 4 more for back-ups but you nurse the original until it is paintless in which you send it off to get repainted

You stand still on solid ground and it feels like your rocking back and forth in the waves. BTW, I love that feeling, it's the feeling of a good day/week/month/lifetime! There is no such thing as to much time, but there is such thing as not enough fish...

When the only reason you stop fishing with a storm approaching is when your rod starts to hum from the electricity...

. . . you are on a date and drop your keys in the parking lot and instinctively reach up to turn on your head lamp because you are so used to it being welded to your head whenever it's dark out.

. . . you take all your turns wide while driving and also back into all parking spaces and driveways whether or not the boat is actually hooked up or not.

. . . you keep your toothbrush in the glove box of your boat so you get a couple extra minutes of fishing and/or sleep depending on the day

. . . you wake up at 4:00 AM in the bottom of your boat with 30 mosquito's on your face as your alarm clock

. . . the boat ramp is empty when you arrive and empty when you leave

These all happen a little often for me:)

When you are out on the water with your buddy and in the distance you see a funeral procession go by. You immediately take off you hat and stop casting until it passes. Your buddy looks at you in awe and says he is very impressed and says he has never seen you be so respectful. You respond by saying..."it was the least I could do, I was married to her for 35 years."

I've spent over 40 years after these stupid fish. No such thing as too much.

Too little, sure. It's a matter of perspective.

I catch coho and browns in the figure 8 on Southern Lake Michigan all the time. Started doing it as habit from musky fishing, but it turns out an 8 will trigger them as well.
