Location: Eastern Ontario | Firetiger Suick, Jointed Believer Perch Orange Belly,Spinnerbait black or brown with one sllver and one orange blade ( I use Rob Dey's but most work)this would kill your 50 bucks but I wouldn't feel naked fishing with only these 3 baits All 3 baits can be cast or trolled

Posts: 569 | I'd have a crane 306 in a holographic pattern, hell pup, mepps magnum killer silver blade in either white or black bucktail hair, and a jackpot for casting lures. I think you could get all of that for close to $50 but maybe a little more.

Add a couple of Storm Kickin minnows. They are great and cheap. Just make sure to put bigger hooks on them.

Posts: 1405 Location: Detroit River | $50 doesn't give you a lot of options for musky baits & your rod & reel combo limits the baits you can throw. Buchertail 700 black w/silver blade Whopper Plopper (any color) Red October Monster Tubes (silver or baby musky)

Posts: 8774 | I'd hit the buy/sell/trade forums here, and buy the following 6 lures, all of which you should be able to work effectively with your rod and reel combo: Topraider (any color) Depth Raider (perch) Double 8 bucktail (black/orange) Unweighted Suick (black) Regular bulldawg (walleye) Jackpot (white)

Posts: 682 Location: Sycamore, IL | Having never fished New Jersey, I would talk to some locals about what lures seem to get the most action before you go out and buy... If I had $50 to spend I would also be looking on the buy/sell boards for: Jerk bait-9" suick (sucker) Crank bait/ twitch bait-Rapala Super Shad Rap( Gizzard Shad or Chrome) Large white spinner bait in white( I like both Nutbusters and Grinders) Top water-Jackpot (black/orange) Black and nickle single blade bucktail Rubber- regular bulldawg( black and orange or walleye) Hope this helps! Posts: 45 Location: TC Metro / NW WI | Good lure suggestions by the other members, I have some abu c3's which are great but won't handle double 10's or larger....either get single blade or double 8's.

Posts: 2 Location: Ravenna Ohio | MD75 - 4/15/2012 8:28 AM Having never fished New Jersey, I would talk to some locals about what lures seem to get the most action before you go out and buy... Matt Everyone has their favorites... this is probably the best advice. If you join Muskies Inc, or know a member, check the Lunge Logs for lakes in your area / places you want to fish. Seasons / fish movement (shallow / deep) play a role in your selection too. Since you're setup for casting, crank baits (Wiley), jerk baits (Suick) and bucktails (Buchertail) are probably a good starting point. Eventually, you'll want to expand to trolling - and more lures, rod holders, big planer boards, a variety of casting and trolling rods, reels, heavy leaders, snaps / swivels, line, extra large tackle boxes, multiple colors of every type of lure... and a bigger bank account just to fund your addiction. Or... you could run, run, RUUUUUNNNN as fast as possible away from this crazy sport where hours are spent - not to mention boatloads of cash - to hook and land one of these beasts. But if you've already landed one, it's too late anyway - welcome to the addiction! LOL

Stays on the bottom really well. HAHA! But, if it was me, it would be a Topraider, a Bucktail, and a Mag Dawg or H2o Hardhead. You can cover all areas of the water column with those 3.

Posts: 1711 Location: Mt. Zion, IL | Gerry's Girl double 8, depth raider or DDD, shallow invader, hellhound or hellpuppy, top raider. If it were me I would get two of each and spend a little more money. Get one natural color and one that is off the wall and bright.
