After the Easter Egg hunt on Saturday, my son Harrison and I get in my brother Mike's new boat and fish a few hours. He just turned 7 last week. He is a train-fanatic. He brought a bag of train toys with him in the boat.

Before Mike and I made too many casts, the whole front platform on the front of his boat was a maze of train tracks and engines and cars all over the place. We just laughed. But after about an hour of playing, he says, "Dad, can I try to fish now?" I Immediately said "sure", but wasn't sure how to make it happen.

One the first cast, I threw the 10" crank bait out on a long cast. I handed him the 9' rod and 400TE and he struggled to reel it in. His jacket was getting caught in the handle and he was working hard to get it in. He immediately tried to figure 8 with the leader tight against the rod tip. LOL!!

On the second cast, I threw it out again, and as he began to reel, I bent down clean up the train stuff so no one would step on it. He says, "Dad, I think I'm caught on the bottom." I figured that might happen....but when I grabbed the rod and pulled on it, I could feel the head shakes!!

Enough story, but here is the result. Harrison is the youngest man ever to put a musky in Mike Hulbert's boat. Thanks Uncle Mike for helping to create an experience that will last his entire lifetime.

Now that's a cool story! Awesome. Awesome pic too!

I'm so very anxious to replicate a story/situation just like that with my kids and get a pic of me with my kids just like that. I sure hope it happens soon...they're growing up way too fast!

The fame is weighing heavy on the little guy! Last night Harrison said, "My dad told me never to forget that I caught that muskie, but thinking about it all the time hurts my brain."

Thanks everyone for the kind comments, we're all very proud.
