Your best bet to get a true "custom" rod built is to post your general location. If you want a true custom built to fit you rod, nothing beats sitting down with the builder and going over the details of how you want the rod to look, handle legnths, diameter of cork, foregrip size/style, thread colors, choice of guides ect. It is hard to do that over the phone unless the customer knows EXACTLY what they are looking to get built. Also, if you visit the builders in person you can check out examples of their work rather than rely on pictures.

Tuscarora Tackle just got their first batch or TI rod blanks. Custom builds start at $225 for a custom rod built on a TI blank. I saw a few today and they are incredible! Contact Jeremy for more pictures or further info. Incredible deal for a custom built rod.

Great price! Think you may have a couple blanks at the Madison Show? I am very interested, but would like to avoid shipping charges if at all possible. Also, are the blanks a gloss finish or matte?

Thanks,

Come and check out our lineup of Custom X Rods, semi custom rods, at the madison and wausau show. They have some of the best components you can buy.
The rods are priced reasonable and you can make some changes in fit and finish that suite your needs.

Those rods above look great.

Here is another option. Grandt Rods. Only place I can think of that you can spend $500+ on a musky rod. Plus they make one-piece rods up to 9'6".

I know one guy very well who had one made. Very high quality. I think he keeps a 700TE on it as a big bait ripper.

No problems at all with the carbon fiber getting slick. That rod floats with a calcutta 400 on it as well. I just had to lay it in the water to see : )

Thanks for the compliments guys! It was fun getting to meet you at the Michigan Show, just wish we had more time to talk.

I know it seems absurd, but I can offer builds starting at $225 on the Tackle Industries blanks. The reason I can offer that pricing is because of the cost of the blanks. The price would include your choice of American Tackle Virtus Lite guides or Fuji Alconites and full or split-grip handle in cork or x-flock over EVA. I can get the x-flock in black, blue, green, yellow, and red. It's some sweet stuff and it got good reviews at the show.

I can offer additional work like Throop Tiger Wraps, snake skin inlays, and marbling. These additions will dress a rod up nicely without adding much to the cost (usually around $25). I can get just about any blank out there to build on including the Predator blanks, St Croix, Lamiglas, MHX from Mudhole, and the Calstar blanks in addition to the 9' TI blanks. Unfortunately, I can't offer the same low pricing on builds with the other blanks!

I'll attach a few pictures of some tiger wraps, marbling, and snake skin inlays for you to check out. Also, the black rod is a 9' MH TI- which I believe to be the first custom TI rod (correct me if I'm wrong James). I built it with a 17" split grip with x-flock grips, no fore grip, spiral wrapped with HD micros, and carbon fiber tape inlays.

Edit: the pictures, in order, are: python skin inlay, marbling, Throop tiger wrap, cobra skin inlay, TI custom rod, and a Big Dawg with blue x-flock grips

thanks,
jeremy
