Hey Everyone,

The Milwaukee Muskie Show is coming up February 10-12. This will be the first muskie show for myself. I really don't know what to expect. Does anyone have any recommendations on what booths to stop at or if you had to choose which seminars to watch which ones would you go to?

Thanks
Andy

By all means, stop by Tyler's basement creations booth. Great stuff! His baits and paint jobs are beautiful plus he'll have an assortment of TI rods for you to check out.
Enjoy!

I personally would try to stop at as many booths as you can and talk with the guys in the booths. There is a ton you can learn at these shows if you stop and talk to many of the people. If you can spend the entire day.

If this will be your first time at the Milwaukee Expo, I would highly recommend coming as soon as the show opens on Friday. the first few hours will give you the best opportunity to actually talk at some length to the exhibitors and to view everything at your pace.
Another option to get face time one on one with the exhibitors is to make the extra effort to make the show if nasty weather hits.
This show has been growing over the past years whereas many other shows seem to be plateauing or reducing in the number of exhibitors and attendees.
Take a look at the seminar speakers that are spread out through the show. They are excellent.
It will be worth your time coming multiple days.
Drop by the Slammer Crankbait Booth and introduce yourself.

I have to work on Friday so I won't be able to make it right when the show starts but I will make it there Friday and I am planning on going multiple days so I can make the most out of it. Will definitely have to make it a point to stop at your guys' booths! Thanks for all the advice.

It seems the actual venue is bigger than Chicago. I know there are guys in Milwaukee that aren't in Chicago. I'm sure it works the opposite way also. In my opinion the milwaukee show is laid out better. There aren't any booths that are just kinda tossed in the hallway. Seems like always more boats in Milwaukee also.

If Milwaukee isn't bigger than Chicago's show already, the difference isn't much.
I have heard that this year Milwaukee is setting a record for the most exhibitors that they have ever had before. It will be interesting to see how it looks and is received by the attendees.

I'd say it's a pretty sure thing that Milwaukee is barely 70% of Chicago in sheer paid for booth space (if that) but it is clearly still a terrific value and not to be missed if you are in the area. I go to Chicago mainly to get a musky fix a month earlier even though I live in the Milwaukee area. I notice every year too that while a lot of exhibitors go to both, many pick one or the other so going to both shows is a real bonus for me. One thing is for sure, you can clearly stop and see every single booth and there is no reason not too. You should also notice that the seminar room is loaded up with some of the best in the business and like most shows, it doesn't cost an extra dime. My advice to the new guy: Pay $20.00 for the 3 day pass, go to every single seminar with a pencil and paper, and by Sunday afternoon, you'll know more about musky fishing than 1/3 of the guys in the hall who have been casting the same bucktail over that very same weed bed in the very same 6 feet of water on the same lake for 25 years and they think they know something. Teachable is "everything."

the mil show seems to have more room to walk around and not as cramped as the chi show when it gets busy,I try to make it every yr and as far as weather, most fisherman have a veichle that can get to the show so weather doesn`t matter to me.I like the mil show and also try to make the madison show also even though it`s more of a all species show, tons of boats to check out at the mad show.

Milwaukee is my favorite show. Lots of room and you can see baits being used in the tank. All manufactures have someone throw baits in the tank, explain how they work and you can see them clearly from the side under water. If you have any questions on how something works ask the vendor what time they will be demonstrating the lure and you can go and watch it.
Stop and see everything at the show you can never learn too much ask lots of questions and go to the how to clinics and see as many speakers as you can.
I will be in the MuskieTrain booth at this show, doing a clinic on sunday and throwing baits in the tank for Monsterlures and MuskieTrain.
The Madison show is a good one also, this year it will have the most musky vendors ever, it has alot of them. I will be in Monsterlures booth at this show.
Good luck see you there.

I know that a few vendors from the chicago show have decided to do the milwaukee show rather then the chicago show for one of many reasons. I also know many vendors have heard that the milwaukee show is fun and a great place to sell some baits so they are doing both shows.

I know of 2 vendors new to the milwaukee show for this year.
Red October Baits - (musky tubes!) they were swamped all the time at the chicago show so id stop by there and check them out.
Simms outdoors/Simms Tackle (schooling shad spinnerbaits in many sizes) But check out thier bass spinnerbaits they are awesome and the best I have ever thrown for bass!

Its a good time check out the show and being there at the end of sat or on sunday all day is good because the show is slower and you can really talk to people and pick thier brains about using thier lures. Good luck and have fun, buy some beers and relax!

b_seiser,
Tackle Industries will be at the Madison Fishing show this year. I will be using this show to liquidate a few lines of lures as well as a LOT of colors. Right now I have between 21-42 colors per lure line. While that is great....most customers buy 8-12 colors/patterns so its simply time to clean up my inventory and get all of my lure lines down to 10 or so core colors. I will have some great specials on select colors of baits or entire lure lines I am discontinuing. I will also have all of my 24 rod lines there for the current winter special of $120. I am discontinuing my saltwater version of my Super Ciscos so every kid gets a free $10,99 Super Cisco too so, bring your kids! All active and inactive Veterans will get an additional 10% off their entire purchase at the show. I will also have a good special on all Tubby Tubes and all profits are donated to Veterans and Children's charities for that lure line. Stop by and say hi.
James

For the Milwaukee show Tylers Basement Creations will have my rods in their booth and I hope to get my new 2-piece rod up there to show off during the show. I know the Milwaukee show will have a great kids day on Sunday too. From what I know the first 200 kids will get a free rod/reel combo. That is very cool of Doug, the Milwaukee show promoter, to set that up for the kids.

Talked to the folks at Dorn's the other day. They will NOT have a booth a the MadFishEXPO this year. They will have a sale at their stores. I'm not sure what kind of discounts they will have?

Guess I'll take Steve's word for it. The show must have been growing faster than I noticed. In any case, I am not going to miss it. I hope to be there Friday afternoon and Saturday afternoon.

Marty,
The Milwaukee Show has a much larger exhibitor list this year. More booths...

Much larger than last year or much larger than Chicago?
Chicago always seems larger to me and better but it might just be a Wisconsin inferiority complex. I never miss both.

Will Pastika's be in Milwaukee? They weren't at Chicago this year. I'm surprised that Thorne's isn't in Milwaukee.

More booths. Who will be new in Milwaukee this year?
I usually end up ordering stuff in Chicago and pick them up in Milwaukee. Works out pretty good. More of the builders are very good at putting up with pain in the a$$ special requests.

I won't go to the Chicago show anymore. Its cramped. The Milwaukee show is generally really nice. Grab a beer, wide isles and lots of booths to see. If they have 30 more vendors this year it will be a great show. Worth the extra dirve vs Chicago imo. I seem to see more specials at the Milwaukee show from venors too vs the Chicago show. Plus "beer" mmmmm beeeeer. Its Milwaukee and Minnesota for me this year.

I am taking in the first seminar on Adam Oberfoell as I like to learn more on these electronics. I was on Navionics Face Book page and they talked very highly of Adam. I also notice that Lowrance is co-sponsoring his seminar too.
