Just a heads up, I just heard that this week's episode of Big Fish 365 will feature topwater muskie fishing in a river system. I saw a couple of the video clips, they have some really cool shots of live topwater hits. It will air on Sunday at 7:30am on Fox Sports North (FSN).

If you can't see the show for any reason, I believe all of their episodes will be on their website (for free). If you use the drop down box under the "Video" tap there are a few different video types you can watch, but by just clicking the "Videos" tap Episode 1 pops up. Hopefully they'll have all of their shows online.

Let me say thanks to Outdoors First for publishing our press release here in the News section. Also, thanks Mike for the vote of confidence.

It gives me great pleasure to share my nearly lifelong dream of producing an educational, multi-specie fishing show. When I first saw In-Fisherman Television back when I was not much older than ten, I knew then that was my calling. Almost thirty years later it has finally become a reality.

Teaming up with Eric Haataja from Milwaukee is sure to bring many BIGFISH bites into the mix, for his resume speaks for itself. Our focus will rely greatly on showing things everyone can do and how to do it.

None of this would be possible without the support of family, friends, and you... the fishing enthusiast. So, thank you everyone.

This weeks show is a two segment show which will include some terrific topwater river muskie and smallmouths. Capturing live surface strikes on film is something any muskie angler can appreciate. As a matter a fact I can't think of anything more exciting to watch.

So feel free to tune in this Sunday and let us know your thoughts. If you do not get FSN North, past shows will be posted on our website to watch anytime.

Thanks for everyones support!

Lee Tauchen

Definitely good stuff! There's more than a few people out there who have wished for a day in either one of your boats just to see how you get it done.. Well, now they can.

Thanks for all the nice comments guys. It was good to see many of you at the Chicago Muskie Show again this weekend!

For those of you that had our show DVR'd to record the series with Charter Cable may have discovered that this weeks show did NOT record yesterday. Charter had our show listed as "Big Fish", not "Big Fish 365" so when the show name changed by correcting it, the dvr did not recognize the new name. So, our apologies.

If you wish to see the show, it should be up on our website later today. Also, this show will be run again in 13 weeks.

Thanks also for to every one coming to see me at Chicago and going out of your way to give us feedback on our new show. The positive feedback means the world to us and we are happy to get a chance to share it with you. Make sure to reset your DVR to record the rest of the season if you have Charter Cable. Thanks!

Lee, why the Winch? I thought most people used the HS models for topwaters. Was it because you were in a current situation, or do you prefer a slower reel for tailbaits?

I can't speak for Lee's reason on the whinch but I personally like it for topwater. It helps me slow down.
So far good shows. I like how you and Eric explain what you are doing. Keep up the good work.

Thanks everybody. Twells is exactly right, the slower retrieve of the Winch forces me to slow down. It makes me feel like I'm fishing faster. I also prefer a softer rod for straight retrieve surface baits, I believe it helps me keep hooks pinned in fish that can sometimes be not hooked so well.

We plan on posting all of our thirteen episodes on our website due to the fact we are only airing on FSN North. Will give more people a chance to see the show. Please feel free to check out the website and use our BIGFISHMOBILE feature to share videos and photos of all species.

For the most current information on BF365, check us out on Facebook and YouTube as well. We will be constantly updating both with new content.

Thanks for watching!

Lee, fantastic topwater episode!! Really looking forward to more muskie episodes.

It's great that Big Fish 365 has the episodes on the web site so us in Ontario, Canada can see them.

One question if you don't mind answering :

What rod, length, action, lure weight were you using for the top water show ?

Thanks. Al

Al, I like to use an 8' 6" MH action rod that is rated for 1-4 oz lures. Line I use 80 lb Sufix 832 and a 130 lb fluorocarbon leader.

Hope that helps. Thanks for watching.

Great show! Definitely a new favorite fishing show that's now in my top 5. Seems like every year I'm watching more of my favorite fishing shows on the Internet due to my cable provider not airing them.

I just watched the latest episode and I really can't say enough about what an awesome job you two are doing with everything from keeping the suspense level up and capturing all the right angles to put us right there in the boat with you. One of my favorite shows, hands down.

Who cares about the muskie episodes, I'm dying to get out and jig for kings and browns! Rarely do I enjoy any fishing tv shows but this one seemed to be a cut above the rest. Informative, easy to follow, realistic with great footage of two guys that you could see yourself fishing with!

What I liked about this past show was the several musky topwater strikes that were caught on camera. I do not know how you were able to pull that off but it was really great. My hat goes off to your camera man as well
