Posts: 567 | What musky tactics will you approach differently 2012? What will you commit to try new? Where will you go that you didn't in 2011? Finally, what was your top 2011 lure? Happy new year!

Hopefully I'll spend some time vertical jigging Bondy Baits. Ideally I'll be using a new Tranx at some point this season.

Posts: 567 | Bondy bait jigging is definitely a must for me too, especially with his new 2011 designs! I know for me I will definitely focus more on the 2lb rubber too, amazing what you see if you throw it....Its easier now that the 9 foot rods and hi powered reels are available.

Posts: 719 | Thanks guys. I appreciate it! If I am going to spend more time on one thing this year, it will be to target more suspended fish and open water roamers. And to boat a bunch more than in 2011.

Posts: 38 | I'm going "old school". I'm going to give the fish a different look - something different from the steady stream of DC10's, 'Dawgs, and Depthraiders that the lakes around here see. I'm going to break out the Suicks, Radke's Pikie Minnows, and Mepps Musky Killers. I'm also going to fish at night - that's where I use the bigger lures. Pat Brookfield, WI

Posts: 299 | I'm going to fish my best spots for longer periods of time. Go over over them multiple times and in a sense wait for the fish to come to me especially on big waters where big fish constantly move on and off of structures.

Posts: 8828 | I'm just gonna fish. Fewer lures, fewer rods, fewer reels, maybe take a dozen lures along. Finally to the point where I've got enough lures that have actually caught fish where the 100's of others don't seem to matter much any more.

I'm strongly considering banning smart phones from the boat. Pet peeve is watching someone text/surf the net for hours while "fishing". Thinking of imposing a one text per half hour rule, unless a fish is caught, then text away.

Location: Des Moines IA | Fish more. Way too much time pullin' OT last year. The $ is nice, but I need to use the boat more to justify the expense. I am hoping to beat the 24 incher I caught this year!!!! Maybe actually win a tourney as well!!!!

Posts: 150 Location: Central Minnesota | Im gonna focus really hard on a few home lakes and master their structure. I will continue to work on boat control in windy conditions. I cant wait for June 2012. Oh and my favorite lure was the bucktails I made that boated me and my friends several nice muskies. Something fun about catching a nice fish on something you made. Also LOVE the bondy.

Posts: 32926 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Minimum of 36 hours the next 3 days working at/for the NPAA at the 2012 Conference, then we head to a media shoot for another 20 plus hours work Sunday night, Monday, and Tuesday plus the travel time back. In the meantime I have two videos in the can I have to edit for clients. OFM isn't just the web publications. Interesting work that I enjoy, just really long hours and lots of travel. Next week it's back from the NPAA Conference and the media shoot, hopefully get a day in the office and then pack, and head to Chicago to set up. Three clients to work with there...it'll be a great show. A photo shoot needs to get done for a client next week too, hopefully the weather will permit. Not an untypical week for the season, and the summer gets even more busy. Best job I have ever had, but the Boss is a cruel taskmaster.

Posts: 336 Location: Lino Lakes, MN | I'm gonna start by getting out on the water quite a bit more after 3+ years of barely fishing since we moved to MN. I'm looking forward to learning new water and spending some time playing around with some new techniques. I've done decently in my limited time on the lakes around here so hopefully some of that confidence carries over into the coming seasons.
